Held in Reception Against My Will
My room was a single room and cannot fault the cleanliness of the room. The cleanliness and location in relation to the train station are the only positives from this property sadly
One issue was with the bed. Anytime I moved the bed would move position and in the morning the bed was far away from where it was originally situated next to the wall
Having checked in I went out for a bit. Upon returning I entered the lobby and headed for the lift and the receptionist chased after me asking my room number. His attitude was nothing short of abysmal. He said I must hand the key in at reception when leaving the hotel, this wasn’t communicated at check in. Apparently there’s a notice on the door. However the door was opened during the day and early evening so how they expect people to see it is a mystery
Next day I got up to go out exploring early morning but could not leave the hotel. The main door was locked and the reception was unmanned. I rang the bell a couple of times and waited a few minutes but there was no movement. I phoned the hotel hoping it might ring in the back office and that’s where the receptionist was but no, the phone at the reception started ringing. I continued to ring the bell for at least 15 minutes before the tall, slim, bearded man with glasses on reception came to let me out. I was hoping to catch a train to Florence but needless to say I missed the one I planned on getting and had to wait for another
Another instance of going out for the evening when I was ready to go out there was nobody on reception so no way was I leaving my key on the desk so I took it with me again. I don’t think they’d appreciate me going behind the desk to store my key away myself although the data protection of guests names due to arrive and other sensitive information wasn’t stored away and was visible for all to see. Upon returning I had the misfortune of the same arrogant prat as the evening before
Next morning I was about to the leave for the airport and again the useless night manager was nowhere to be seen and waited again for a further 10 minutes before he arrived
It’s one thing locking the door at night but at no point should anyone not be able to freely leave the hotel. Nobody should be held against their will and not be able to leave the hotel. Especially when people have early morning flights and trains to catch
Avoid this hotel at all costs. There’s far better places out there

Hotel to Titanic tragedy.

Unfortunately, this hotel was not as advertised.
The main reason I booked this room was because the listing clearly stated that air conditioning was included. However, upon arrival, I was informed by reception that there was no AC available at all. The room became extremely hot overnight and the only option was to leave the door open, which resulted in mosquitoes and insects flying into the room and biting us throughout the night.
There were also several other issues during the stay:
• The TV did not work, even after reception attempted to fix it.
• A metal shower bracket/shelf detached and fell unexpectedly, nearly hitting my sister’s foot.
• There appeared to be no shower gel provided.
• There was only one accessible socket near the entrance of the room, which was incredibly inconvenient.
The most disappointing part was that when these issues were raised, there was no meaningful resolution offered during the stay. We were told there were no other rooms available and ultimately had to remain in a room that did not match the amenities advertised online.
The reception staff were polite, but the property itself needs significant improvements and the listing should accurately reflect what is actually provided.
If you are specifically booking for air conditioning, I would strongly recommend confirming directly with the hotel before staying.
