Tower that enchants you
I was looking for a comfortable base for the many weeks I will spend in the area: after a night in Valmontone and a lightning inspection in Zagarolo, on the second evening I choose the B&B La Torretta in Palestrina. From the photos it seemed nice; live is something else: you leave the state road, walk 50 meters of private driveway on a dirt road, you cross the gate and the renovated tower stands out elegantly. Parking reserved for guests: perfect logistics.Quick check-in: the owner guides me on the phone and I retrieve the keys from the box at the entrance. Panoramic elevator to the fourth floor; as I go up I notice a large terrace overlooking Rome and think “blessed are the owners!”. I find out a moment later that that terrace is from my quarters. Within and the first glance conquers: duplex mini-apartment on two levels, downstairs a spotless living room with sofa, armchair, dining table and snack corner with espresso machine, microwave and full chest of drawers. Continuously an equipped kitchenette (oven, induction hob, serious utensils). Two windows, balcony and perimeter terrace that then opens into a second larger solarium: there is a large table with two benches where 10 people sit by the eye. It is the classic space that you imagine already between sunset aperitifs and slow breakfasts. Upstairs I find second TV, wardrobe, luggage rack, coat rack, additional cabinet and above all a generous bathroom with large shower and spa effect column. Fragrant linens, manic order: here the care is at home. Single point to improve—I will report it to the property: the room light goes on/off from downstairs; at night it forces you to go up in the dark. Nothing unsolvable: a diverter or a small smart system and the picture is perfect.Verdict: I fell in love with the Tower. It is more beautiful live than in pictures, offers amazing views, privacy, smart location (about 3 km from the center but a step away from the arteries) and spaces that transform a simple overnight stay into a small living room. I stopped shooting other structures: for my weekly returns, this will be my home in Palestrina. Highly recommended. It will make you fall in love ❤️. I know ‘having described it as it is and how I lived it, I will hardly find free rooms in the future. I hurry to book for all the days I need of the year!!!
