Spartan place but more than acceptable

Staff were pleasant.
Room was basic but adequate/cheap for me as a solo traveller staying for a week. I wouldn't have wanted to stay here with a partner.
Most other rooms seemed to be occupied by 'residents'.
The area around the hotel is rough and dirty. You could call it "character".
A mainly black and Chinese area, people sleeping on bare matresses on the street, lots of street stalls around selling their wares.
I never felt threatened or intimidated but I can imagine many people would who are older, single females or a little naive.

Experience not to be repeated
As soon as the room arrived my girlfriend immediately realized that there was no toilet paper then I subsequently managed to connect to the wi fi network but the connection did not work at all then after two days taking a shower I realized that the shower was leaking and flooded the whole room I of my own initiative I dried everything and was made present at reception.
The next day reported the problem to the receptionist he told me that he would fix the problem also because I would go for a trip to Ischia and when I returned in the evening the problem would be solved and instead it was not so I turned to the reception for the umpteenth time and the guy at the reception responding badly started an argument and we argued.
At one point the receptionist guy calls me the Owner by phone and the Owner knew nothing about the problem we encountered and so gave me another room.
We enter this room and it is worse than the one we had before discovered with the risk of electrocution dirty everywhere and mostly under the bed we found a moldy and pierced sock and in addition a tissue of paper.
The next evening after taking a shower I was drying when at one point I hear the door knocking I who was in a bathrobe open the door and find myself a gentleman never seen with a large dog.
He not qualifying and not telling me who I was for protection of me and my family shut the door right away.
He knocks back and tells me that he is the Hotel Owner so I open the door and start an argument until I end up arguing.
They also complained about the dog's hair when it was pointed out to them both by phone and both saw it in person telling me that they had to throw away the blankets when the blankets the sheets and pillowcases were already dirty and stained.
It is to conclude at check out they did not even apologize for the inconvenience created to me and my family.
Don't really go horror movie hotels and for those who want contact me.
