Avoid May - September as air-conditioning can't cope

If it's hotter than 25 degrees outside during the day then I'd avoid this hotel as the air conditioning is terrible. Set to 18 degrees but the room never got below 23 when set on high fan. And only had 2 settings, high being similar to having an aircraft in the room, or low which does very little and sees the room approaching 30 degrees. Had friends staying in other rooms and they had the same issue with their air conditioning - could never get the room cool enough to be comfortable. Made it near impossible to sleep. Also they don't change the towels daily, which makes it very hard if you want to shower more than once a day and not have damp smelling towels. The local beach is closed for repair (no idea when it reopen, so check before visiting Monopoli if that's important to you).

One of your best bets in Monopoli

This is a good 3-star hotel option in Monopoli. The town is completely pedestrian, so there are no luxury hotels as such in the old town. Given how close this was to the parking lot where our taxis would collect us, this option was excellent. Our room was on the first floor and was exactly as pictured. Higher than this would have been challenging given our luggage. The only downside was the AC which hovered around 23 degrees, however, this is something we've experienced all across Europe in summer.
The receptionists were super super helpful, from suggesting an incredible wine and olive oil tasting (ask Ida to book you the experience at Rivale) to even driving us around when required; this is a great choice to stay at in Monopoli. Ida was in touch with us weeks before we arrived and helped us make all our bookings.
Of course, it's not a luxury stay so don't expect any bathroom amenities, etc. but in terms of location, pricing and service; I would recommend this.

We suffer with heat

The reception was not very friendly, air conditioning weak, we passed a lot of heat and was not repaired. The night before check-out they turned off the hot water of the 2 bedrooms. There is no breakfast included and the check-out is at 10:00.
It is well located, large room and good bed.

Lovely stay, as always!

We’ve stayed at Mulini four times now, and honestly, we wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Monopoli!
As part of our wedding trip to Puglia, we booked several rooms for friends and family, and everyone loved their stay. The value for money is excellent, and the location couldn’t be better, right in the heart of the old town, just steps from the beach, supermarket, and plenty of bars.
Breakfast delivered to your door is such a great touch. the communal rooftop terrace is a great spot to enjoy drinks or lunch if your room doesn’t have a balcony.
Alma is a fantastic host, with great communication throughout.
Thank you once again for another amazing stay, we can’t wait to come back!
