What a little Gem!!!

Garda is a beautiful town and Villa Anthea is a very well located family run hotel. Staff and owners go out of their way to make it a home from home, very helpful and always with a smile, big shout out to Radu and his sense of humour, he did make us laugh
Room was a bit on the small side but who spends all day in the room, small balcony but able to fit two small chairs on.
All areas very clean and nice toiletries and pool bags provided on request.
QR code made easy request for snacks and drinks, served to you on the terraces if you wished.
Fabulous breakfast, lots of choice, all freshly prepared, homemade cakes too and replenished quickly.
Lovely relaxing outside areas to sit and chill and chat to other guests or enjoy the pool as you wish, not noisy and not too busy either to say hotel was fully booked, could always get a sunbed.
Had a fabulous stay, would definately recommend Villa Anthea, (
but quietly as it is a hidden gem )
Thanks for help making our stay in Garda a very memorable time we definately be back.

Lovely hotel, run by lovely people

We stayed at Villa Anthea in the first week of June 26, and it was tremendous. The rooms are slightly smaller than expected, and the balcony hasn't really enough room for two people, but those are the only very minor negatives in an otherwise great stay.
Clean, well equipped room, with all you would expect from a modern hotel - WiFi, safe, TV, USB sockets etc. Ultimately, we spent little time there as the pool and outside lounge areas are so lovely just to sit and enjoy the calm atmosphere. The addition of QR codes, where drinks and snacks are delivered to you outside are icing on an already delicious cake.
Breakfast leaves nothing wanted for. From fresh fruit to pancakes to pastries to bacon and eggs there is everything you could ask for, and they are constantly refilling the containers which means the food is consistently fresh and hot.
The hotel is minutes from the lake, and the wee back streets where there are loads bars and restaurants.
Every member of staff we spoke to was pleasant, helpful, and everyone seemed happy to be there, which is a sign of a healthy work environment.
Highly recommended...

Great hotel, terrible staff.

My family and I stayed at this hotel for two nights after spending two nights at Hotel Centrale further down the street. While this hotel had great facilities, the attitude of several staff members completely ruined our experience.
The air conditioning in our room was extremely noisy, making it difficult to sleep. We reported the issue to reception, but the only solution offered was a small electric fan, which is simply not an acceptable substitute for functioning air conditioning. We also noticed that rooms were still available to book during our stay, via booking.com, yet no room change was offered.
What was far worse, however, was the behavior of several staff members. My partner politely questioned a warm, runny milkshake and was met with eye-rolling, cold looks, and a dismissive attitude. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, the staff made her feel as though she had done something wrong simply for asking a reasonable question.
The same thing happened again at reception when she asked about a beach bag. The two female receptionists ignored her completely, offered no assistance, and showed no interest in helping. An older gentleman eventually stepped in and found the bag, while the two receptionists never acknowledged her or said a single word.
There is no excuse for treating paying guests this way. We remained polite and respectful throughout our stay, yet several members of the staff were consistently rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. A hotel can have beautiful rooms and excellent facilities, but if guests are made to feel unwelcome, those things quickly become irrelevant.
After spending two nights at Hotel Centrale, the difference in customer service was impossible to ignore. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend staying there instead of this hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. First of all, we are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us, and I was particularly surprised and concerned to read about your experience with our staff.
As you may have noticed both here and on Booking.com (where you also left a 3/10 review, to which unfortunately I cannot reply), our staff is consistently our top-rated category. We are a small, family-run hotel and we take great pride in our team. Many of them have been working with us for several years, and as you can see from our other reviews, they are known for being friendly, trustworthy, and genuinely caring towards our guests.
That said, I understand that misunderstandings can happen, especially when there are communication difficulties. We always do our best to resolve any issues and to make our guests feel at home.
Regarding the air conditioning, I can confirm that on the night in question we were fully booked, as we explained to you at reception, and therefore it was not possible to move you to another room. In addition, since all our rooms are served by the same air conditioning system, the noise level would likely have been similar in other rooms as well. For this reason, we promptly offered you a fan as the quickest alternative solution available at that time.
Concerning the milkshake, I am sorry that it did not meet your expectations. Although no specific issue was mentioned, we immediately prepared a fresh replacement for you.
With regard to the beach bag, there were other guests in front of you who also needed assistance at that moment. We helped them first and then attended to you as soon as it was your turn, providing you with the beach towel you requested.
In any case, I will share your review with the rest of the team so that we can reflect on your comments and continue to improve our service, ensuring that all our guests feel welcome and well cared for.

Great small hotel in Garda

Great family run hotel. Good location just a few minutes walk from the lake.
Stayed in a ‘piccola room’, on the small side but everything we needed and very clean.
Breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit and lots of choice.
Staff friendly and helpful
Definitely stay here again

Lake Garda, June 2026

We spent 9 nights at Villa Anthea and I would definitely recommend this family run hotel. Its location is on a quiet road, very near to the waterfront and numerous restaurants/bars/shops of Garda. The hotel owners were so helpful and chatty to their guests. We had an early flight back and we were provided with a lovely bag of sandwiches, cakes, fruit and drinks to take with us when we left. All that we needed in our lovely room was provided by the hotel and the standard of cleanliness was high. It was nice to cool off in the swimming pool after a day of sightseeing, particularly as we had a heatwave throughout our stay. Breakfast was provided at a convenient time and the food was varied and freshly prepared. All in all, a very good choice for accommodation.
