The highlight of our 3 week tour around Italy
I cannot recommend this utterly charming and boutique resident highly enough. The elegant house with just 12 rooms oozed calm and quality as soon as we arrived, and enhanced very much by the warm and friendly welcome we received from Sarah. Our spacious room and the public areas had been designed to the highest standards to match the appealing external appearance of the elegant villa. Just minutes from the station (ideal for our rail travels around Italy) and short walk to the delightful centre of the small town of Foligno. Easily accessible to the nearby and crowded tourist attractions of Perugia, Spoletto and Assissi but certainly away from the tourist trail! We could not have chosen a better place to stay for our time in Umbria.

We loved our stay here. The property is beautifully maintained and our room was comfortable and clean. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and the Town Center with shops and restaurants is a short walk away. The breakfast each morning was delicious with many options available.

Wonderful hotel just steps from the center of Foligno in a beautifully restored ancient villa
I only gave 4 stars; it deserves 5 for the reasons I will indicate later.
The location is wonderful, a perfectly restored villa, ample parking, and a beautifully maintained garden surrounding the villa. Room (deluxe superior) spacious with a nice terrace, tastefully furnished but with some shortcomings that a 4-star hotel should not have:
lacking a kettle and/or a coffee machine (almost all good 4-star hotels have one, even if it is not mandatory). Small wardrobe and lack of drawers. Table with a large TV (there would be room for a nice chest of drawers underneath) and the nightstands (designed) also lack drawers, so you have to leave things lying around the room. Poor lighting, insufficient above the bathroom mirror, and the bedside lighting is inadequate for pleasant reading. Additionally, there is no wall-mounted coat rack to hang jackets and coats.
Breakfast was decent, but certainly not top-notch; the savory options were limited, and if you want something like scrambled eggs, you have to pay extra. Furthermore, it would be a nice touch to provide at least a complimentary bottle of water upon arrival (some 4-star hotels provide this daily).
These shortcomings indicate that customer care is certainly not a priority for the management; it would take so little to improve. Excellent cleanliness and very kind and courteous staff.

Tariff inconsistency.
Nothing to object to the cleanliness and quality of the room, but it seemed discreet to pay 200 € more than another adjacent room, just because in the balcony there was a hydro tub that with 8 degrees Celsius was unusable for obvious seasonal reasons. I believe that common sense must prevail over money. I forgot... essential breakfast.

Good stay
We stayed at Relais Metelli for two nights in the deluxe double room while attending a friend’s wedding and had a lovely experience. The hotel is clean, stylish, and very well maintained. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff were friendly and accommodating throughout our stay.
We had breakfast at the hotel both mornings and found the selection to be modest but satisfying — fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries, toast, and preserves. Hot options like scrambled eggs were available at an additional cost. The staff were attentive and kind, checking in to make sure our coffee orders were correct and even preparing a tray of small sandwiches for us as requested before we headed to the wedding.
The location is good — just a short walk to Foligno’s main square with shops and restaurants, and only a minute from the main train station, making it very convenient for travel.
