Hotel is very nice and quiet. I would definitely stay here again. My only issue was the 2 level tub that made it hard for me to get in, out and shower. But the stay was well worth it.

Misleading Listing and Unacceptable Standards

My wife and I stayed at this hotel over the August bank holiday, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The accommodation bore little resemblance to what was advertised on the booking website. The photographs and description created an expectation that the hotel simply did not meet.
The room was outdated, poorly equipped, and lacked basic facilities that guests should reasonably expect, including accessible charging points and an iron. Overall, the standard of the accommodation felt decades behind and was completely unacceptable for the price we paid.
We felt misled by the listing and would not have booked this hotel had it been accurately represented. Management urgently needs to bring the rooms up to an acceptable standard and ensure that future advertising honestly reflects what guests will receive. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this hotel.

A dive at the price of a 4-star hotel

196 € for a single room of 2 square meters, run-down, stuck in the 80s, with an ugly, shabby bathroom, without a bidet.
Minimal breakfast, limited choice, with discount products and little quantity.
Everything was truly terrible.
Only the location is convenient.

The air con in the bedroom is an old system, it couldn't cope with a hot summer day.
Excellent breakfast.
It is an old hotel with lots of character, situated in a fantastic location.
Good value for money.

Disappointing and poor standard of accomodation for the price

We booked and stayed for three nights at Hotel Martelli, but wish that we'd only booked one night. Two awful double rooms with musty odours, grubby curtains and bedspreads. No power-points in which to plug the provided kettles and we had to place kettles on the floor and plug into power-points at skirting board level. Furniture was old and bathrooms were tired. We requested a change of rooms for our remaining two nights and - to give the hotel staff their due - we were promptly moved to more pleasant rooms, but the dusty/musty smell remained. Public areas in the hotel are nicely furnished, but we found that the rooms really require refurbishment. The hotel is conveniently central and within walking distance of most major sites of interest and the railway station. Buffet breakfast was included in the room rate, but foodstuffs weren't hygienically covered, and worse, most of the food was located on a high drinks bar at shoulder height, with guests breathing on the food - and quite a few guests were unwell and coughing. We wouldn't stay in the hotel again and wouldn't recommend.
