A decidedly welcoming sphinx

A great property right in the center of Chiusi, from where you can reach museums and restaurants in a few minutes walk (the room by the way had a great view). Friendly and helpful staff beyond imagination, cozy and clean rooms, including bed and shower. I highly recommend it!

Nice random choice

Everything perfect and cheap. Convenient location for visiting the city center. The room had beautiful antique furniture and a particular atmosphere. We also found something to eat and drink even though breakfast was not included. Friendly staff

tired from the trip, I took advantage.

very quiet, welcoming place, very courteous owner. I was so tired that I slept for 11 hours. no disturbance. I think I'll take it into consideration in the future if I return to the area

Fantastic host in a charming hotel

I was so impressed with the hospitality of the owners. The room was much better than I expected and even had a balcony to soak in the beautiful views. The cleaners did a great job tidying the room and bathroom. Tea and coffee facilities in the room were a nice touch. I can't thank the owners enough for making my stay so enjoyable. They went out of their way providing a personal touch and helpful friendly smile. Thank you.

Our first visit to Chiusi and Albergo La Sfinge

Our recent (and first ever) visit to Chiusi occurred during the shoulder season between spring break and Easter, a relatively quiet time in this small southern Tuscan hill town. We opted to stay in Chiusi because of the Etruscan history of the town and the associated quality museums and because it is convenient as a base to explore nearby Umbrian and Tuscan hilltowns (we visited Montepulciano and Assisi during our stay here). Our room at Albergo La Sfinge was enjoyable - we awoke in the morning to a wonderful view of Tuscan hillsides directly from our window. Our room was spacious, with a large well-appointed bathroom and comfortable king size bed. Our host was extremely accommodating and helpful in assisting at check in and especially as we departed. We were meters from the bus stop for local buses to the train station and a few hundred meters from the stop for intra-city buses to Montepulciano, Chianciano Terme and other nearby destinations. We have traveled in Italy nearly every year for more than two decades and were very pleased with Albergo La Sfinge as a base of operations in southern Tuscany.
