Modern Roomy Hotel Apartment Right in the heart of Alba
Family of 4 adults, we stayed in one of the 3 bedroom apartments in a modern building immediately adjacent to the main hotel. Well-appointed, modern, nice beds, two large bathrooms, full kitchen and living room. Top-notch accommodations for an apartment hotel in Europe. My only nitpicks would be that only one of the bathrooms had a stand-up shower, the other had a bathtub with hand spray that is typical in Italy. And given that the apartment seemed otherwise fully appointed, it could have easily fit one of those small washer/dryer combo units that fit under the counter in kitchen.
As for the main property, the lobby and lobby bar were very quaint in that old European style (but not outdated), the buffet breakfast had most everything you could want, and the staff was incredibly polite and helpful. At the last minute I decided to change a planned train to Milan with a private transfer, and the front desk checked with three different drivers to find the best rate.
As for the location, hard to be better situated with a short 3 min walk to Piazza Ferrero, and 10 mins to the heart of the old town. Would recommend to anyone visiting the charming town of Alba or looking for a jumping off point for touring the local wine and truffle country.

Very good hotel in Alba
Very good hotel in Alba. I had booked a superior room and it was very large and well-equipped. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I had brought my e-bike with me and they gave me a lockable box at no extra charge. The hotel is highly recommended.

Service with a smile
We went truffle hunting and spent three nights at Hotel Calissano and had a wonderful stay. The hotel itself is older, but the rooms are very comfortable and Pet-friendly. What really makes the hotel special is the excellent staff. From reception to management to the restaurant team, everyone was genuinely helpful and welcoming. They made our stay feel personal and memorable.

Thumbs up for Calissano & Alba
Distinction: there is Hotel Calissano and apartments at Hotel Calissano. We stayed at the apartments, which are in an adjacent building to the hotel. Bruno went above and beyond at check-in. He took us to the parking garage & directed us where to park our electric car rental. He even hooked up the charging equipment. Bruno then escorted us to our apartment and pointed out all features. Kudos to Bruno!
The apartment had a full kitchen with refrigerator and stove. Private bath was a nice size but a couple of comments: the shower door did not close all the way so water was always on the floor after showering; the light in the bathroom was motion sensitive and out of range of the shower, unless you waved your hands above your head. There needs to be a manual override for the light. We had a balcony but there was no furniture on it so we had to take kitchen table chairs out if we wanted to sit outside. The location was great, a 5-10 min walk to the center of old town. However, the street the hotel is on is a bit dark and off the main road. Thankfully there was always other guests walking back in the evening, but for two women walking alone, it felt a little desolate/sketchy. Breakfast in the hotel was included. The dining room that breakfast was served was pleasing and had plenty of room. There were a variety of selections for breakfast. Would stay at Calissano again if in the Piedmont region. It was easy to explore and visit other towns & go on excursions. We went on a truffle hunt and winery tour/tasting within 30 minutes of Alba. Also explored neighboring towns of La Morra & Nieve. Alba's old town was charming and we spent a few days and evenings wining & dining.

A somewhat hidden hit.
Great hotel. Friendly, competent staff. Nice and soundproofed rooms.
Walking distance to the city center and the station. Large and safe underground parking. Ideal base for this wine region.
