Very Unprofessional!!

Very unprofessional. I booked a stay and arrived at the premises, to be told no room at the inn.
I booked and confirmed through Booking.com.
I got my confirmation email but when I arrived to checkin. Lizzy informed me that my room had already been sold. Not her problem and she had no number for Booking.com
Maybe best to avoid.

Lizzie's bed and breakfast

I booked one night a Saturday 20 th May.I was in Listowel for a family reunion.I arrived at 2.30/ 3 very nice young man took my bag up three flights of stairs which in itself is not the greatest .Anyway the single room they gave me was very small and pokey .Not the worst but you could see it was very dated .Ok I go to take a shower in the ensuite (tiny) no hot water .A very nice gentleman very apologetic said the boiler had gone .He showed me down two flights to a communal shower .I understand these things happen. When I eventually came back later that night I was horrified by the mattress on a small single bed .Springs could be felt through the mattress I mean it was awful I barely slept. I don't usually complain at all but no one said anything about breakfast and I had no tea or coffee or water nothing in my room. I looked into another one of the rooms when it was empty and they had all the facilities in their room.I just feel for 70 euro no breakfast nothing it was dreadful . I ended up having breakfast at the hotel. Not great at all. Mary

Don't trust a guaranteed reservation. Skip Lizzy's, go to the Horseshoe.

We made a guaranteed reservation on Booking.com and traveled a distance to get there. We were told to arrive between 3-6pm. We arrived at 5:30 and it was locked up. It is an ugly, rundown building. We met a couple coming out who said there was no one there to help us and that the accommodations weren't very good. We had left a credit card deposit so we felt we needed to continue. We called the number and got an answering machine. We tried the number every 15 minutes until almost 7, when we finally got through to Lizzy. We sounded busy and said she would have to call me back. She called back about 15 minutes later and said that she had no rooms. Fortunately we were able to get a room at the Horseshoe Bar and Restaurant that also has a B&B. That was a much nicer place. Skip Lizzy's and go to the Horseshoe.
