Great location on the Shannon River, good walkability to Limerick Castle along the river; good food on site.

We expected much more from a 4-star hotel, not unhelpful staff, overpriced parking, and an old facility.

We booked the hotel because there was little negative feedback in the reviews, even regarding the parking.
We had to register for parking through the hotel homepage and then received a 10% discount for one night. We still paid €23.67! Nothing like the €10-12 that everyone wrote about. Furthermore, the parking garage is very run-down. We stayed in a similar hotel/parking garage in Cork, where we paid €12 for parking.
The lady at the reception was not friendly at all and just said: that's how it is now. (The hotel homepage still shows the old price, which is very misleading!)
The room was okay, with a bathtub but no showerhead.
The breakfast was mediocre. An Irish breakfast and bad coffee, without a buffet and a super chaotic service.
Not recommended.

Awful experience with night staff

I recently stayed at this hotel and left highly disappointed by the lack of professionalism from the night team. During the night, a male overnight staff member named Alan aggressively approached the door of my room to check on the number of occupants inside.While I completely understand and respect that hotels have strict policies regarding room capacity and noise levels—and we may have been a little loud—the situation was handled incredibly poorly by Alan. Instead of addressing the matter politely or professionally, his approach was confrontational and unnecessarily aggressive.As a paying guest, I expected a standard of courtesy and safety that was simply not met during this interaction. This could have been resolved easily with basic hospitality skills, but instead, Alan left a very negative impression on my stay. I hope management addresses training with him and their overnight crew.

Bar served excellent food and drinks. Watched the World Cup in the Bar.
Room was clean and comfortable.

Unprofessional

Just tried to book this hotel for the Ryder cup next year, after receiving an email confirming the accommodation the manager let me know that there are no rooms available…how unprofessional
