Fab dog friendly!

Fab! V dog friendly weekend with our Dolly! Food, atmosphere, friendly staff, lovely pints & the weather to match. Highly recommended! We had a beautiful suite with loads of room for our large doggie. Thanks to all staff at The Twelve Hotel - we will return for sure!

False advertising

We were very much looking forward to this stay but it most certainly did not meet our expectations. We are not picky travelers, although I do put a good deal of time and effort into seeking out clean and well reviewed places to stay and are typically quite happy with our selections. The rest of our Ireland trip found us in excellent accommodations. Did we like the Twelve? Not so much. I’ll start with the good; the restaurant is very good and so is the included breakfast. All staff there were really wonderful. But the room was dirty, including a ceiling full of cobwebs a stained and dirty tub and sink and a mysterious white splatter all over the bathroom door. Dust was caked on shelves and doors . We were also very much looking forward to the spa, which is advertised on their website and their information packet but apparently there is no spa and there hasn’t been for quite a while. when I called to see if I could book a massage I was informed of this. They suggested I call a hotel about 15 minutes away, burn they also no longer had massage . I booked this hotelSpecifically because of the fact that the had a spa. I’m in my late 50s with psoriatic arthritis and knew all of the walking and hiking would put me in some pain and I’d need a massage to function well. ( as a side note the Galmont in Galway had an absolutely amazing massage- one of the best I’ve ever had) .
I don’t understand how a hotel can claim to have services that they don’t have and not really seem to care about the false advertising. Barna is a lovely place away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Galway with lots of shops and restaurants extremely close by, and this hotel has such potential! I’d absolutely recommend the restaurant but unfortunately not the hotel itself.

Wonderful hotel, not far from the center of town, with free parking and free breakfast, which was a full sit down meal.
The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. Rooms were spacious and well kept and stocked

We are elderly guests.
The shower was in the bath.
Only just over half the length of the bath had an non slip on base.
No problem with getting in but difficulty getting out a step too far
Should supply a non slip mat

We really enjoyed our stay.Fabulous hotel mantained so beautifully..staff attentive & friendly.Breakfast was delicious.I am a coeliac & staff looked after my needs.
