Centrally located Ubud villa

Very central, the villa with the pool is very cool. More cleaning is needed in the bathroom. The rest is very good.

I stayed here 3 years ago and it was great. Same 2 been villa as last time. Horrible experience, won’t be back. No toilet paper in downstairs bathroom. 1/2 roll upstairs. Asked staff do pool towels, they said later, then closed up and left. Finally got pool towels, and toilet paper next morning and had them clean. That was the only time they cleaned over 3 days. Stay away.

Nobody showed me where to go for breakfast I had to wait for an hour. No coat hangers in the room. No coffee or tea and no tv. Bedding was stained an torn.

First of all: I rarely, if ever, post a bad experience. Ben definitely not a complainant, but couldn't make anything else of this. We booked quite nice accommodations on our trip through Bali, ranging from 60 to 150 euros per night. Also Gora House booked for the special price of 90 euros for four nights. It looked pretty reasonable, so go ahead. We'll see on arrival. First of all, from the road we had to go through a long and narrow bumpy path 'somewhere to the back'. After some inquiries found the building where Gora House is located. Because we had all our doubts for the price of 90 euros for four nights (at the time of this writing it is even on Booking for 15 euros per night) but first look at the room. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Also a simple seat outside. But the air already betrayed the state of the whole. Moisture and mold. The wall paint at the connection with the skirting boards was peeling everywhere. It did not seem hygienic to us as a whole and the thought of having to sleep here for four nights did not seem like a nice prospect. Secretly looked in other free rooms, but actually the same. So we refused the room and asked for half the payment back, which is what happened in the end. Directly on the internet something else booked for 50 euros per night. Was totally awesome! From hell in heaven, so to speak. In short, if you don’t want to spend a lot and you don’t look so closely at moist mold air, then this is fine for the money. But how much effort is it to maintain the rooms a little and do something about the ventilation. Then you don't have to offer the rooms for a rock-bottom price.

Couldn't get any worse!

Apart from the location, close to the center, everything is really bad about Gora House. Filthy beds on arrival, floors and closets dirty (layer of black dust). The rooms were certainly not cleaned beforehand. Picking hair in shower drain, leaking taps that made the whole toilet wet. We had an apartment and a room. The refrigerator in the apartment full of mold, leaking tap in countertop (provisionally pasted with painter's tape). Bathrooms full of mold and a layer of lime on taps and walls. Mosquito nets too gross to touch. The private pool at the apartment was dirty, green deposits on the floor and walls. The staff (boys) can't run a hotel, rude, don't know what cleaning is and when we heard that several guests, in locked rooms, had money and stuff stolen (see also other reviews) we left after 3 nights (instead of 5 nights).
