Very nice hotel in a quiet location

The "Spring Hill Hotel" in Ruteng is located off the main road. The reception is friendly and professional, and our luggage is quickly brought to our room (No. 25). This is located on the first floor of one of the long buildings, and there are two chairs and a table in front of the door, so you can sit there nicely.
The floor of the spacious and pleasantly furnished room consists of polished floorboards; the double bed is large and comfortable. Amenities include a TV, good Wi-Fi, a table with a chair, as well as a kettle with tea and coffee. The bathroom is very nice with a glass partition for the shower, a seated toilet, and complimentary toothbrushes. The Spring Hill Hotel has no AC, which is also not necessary. Instead, large umbrellas are available in every room. Heavy rainfall often occurs here.
The long, two-story hotel blocks are situated in a very beautiful garden with bizarrely large ferns and a natural pond for goldfish. In the middle of the garden is a rotunda, modeled after traditional buildings and covered with palm fronds, where you can have your breakfast, which is served starting at 7 a.m. This is served in a pavilion in front of the restaurant starting at 7 a.m. and is offered in buffet form. There is fruit, fried noodles, white rice, chicken, tempeh, and a vegetable made from papaya and banana blossoms, tea, and coffee. Those who wish can have fresh eggs fried for them; toast, butter, and two types of jam are also available, and fried bananas are also provided.
Directly opposite this "breakfast pavilion" is the hotel's "Spring Hill Restaurant." We had dinner here. This restaurant is not recommended!

An improving hotel

We loved the hotels grounds and the staff were lovely, however the reason we didn't give a higher score was because the rooms were so dark with no air-conditioning or fan and when we stayed it was hot. Breakfast was not replenished and both days we were left with little choice even though we were not at the end of the session. There were some big groups in, so that may be why. It was noisy where our room was; we were on the outside backing on to houses maybe. I do think that this is probably one of the best hotels in the area despite that and they seem to be working to make things better for guests.
