Unexpectedly good and a must whilst staying in Orchha
I found it difficult to book accommodation in Orchha when planning our trip – the reason could have been that Dev Patel was making a film that included shooting scenes in the adjacent Jahangir Mahal during our planned stay
So we had a night in this hotel – room 2 – a large room – sitting area – bed – hanging and storage space – windows overlooking the Mahal and across the town – and through a corridor to the bathroom – walk in shower – hot and controlled – and then onto what can only be described as the throne room – toilet sitting proudly with windows on 3 sides – a room with a view
We ate all our meals in the Hotel as it is located away from the main town – all were good – well-presented and tasty
In terms of location – it is difficult to beat – the hotel is almost attached to the Fort and is short walk to Jahangir Mahal – it is a busy area during the day with other visitors – and when we visited the film crew – but at night it was ours – we attended the Sound and Light show – that lasts for a couple of hours and traces the history of the dynasties associated with Orchha and beyond – impressive but being outdoors in January a little chilly and we managed about 40 minutes
This hotel was an unexpected bonus – it cost very little – but provided great value for money – it was comfortable if quirky – all the staff were very attentive and friendly – and its location cannot be beaten – I would happily stay again – thank you

Very nice historic address
Hotel located in the fort, in the heart of the tourist and historical sector, quiet and with a beautiful view of the surroundings

Think twice before booking
I didn't have very good experience staying at this hotel. Staff not accommodating. Restaurant closes in the afternoon, we had to find lunch nearby cafe. Room are nice and big size but hot water is the issue. We had dinner and breakfast included but in alacart they didn't have few dishes which I wanted to order.
It looks really nice but not a good experience.

Wonderful hospitality, lovely place.
We stayed in the Maharaja Suite, what a fabulous place. Morning ablutions with a 180° view from the TOTO loo. A first for me.
The staff couldn’t do enough for us, lovely people.
The food was excellent.
It’s not the Oberoi in New Delhi but the place has wonderful old charm, incredible location and we were thrilled we stayed here.
A highlight of our 3 week tour.

Avoid this hotel
We stayed at this hotel for two nights earlier this week. We were expecting a reasonably decent hotel in a central location. However, there were several issues listed below, made of our stay terrible.:
Bathroom had a constant sewer stink, in spite of ventilation fan running constantly
Bathroom sink faucet was loose and fixtures like soap dispenser and showerhead were rusty and looked ugly
Hot water came in an extremely thin stream and we could not get proper adjustment to get warm water in the shower.
Wi fi connection was poor.
Food was mediocre and options Limited
We stayed in room # three.
People generally seemed helpful.
We eventually found out that there are far better hotels nearby for a comparable price.
