Super close to the train station

Really nice place super close to the rail station. The room was super clean and spacious, A.C. and pretty comfortable bed.
The rooms facing the street can be a little loud but nothing to worry about.
The food at the restaurant pretty tasty. The staff are very friendly kind and always trying to improve your stay. I spent there 2 nights and I would definitely come back

Needs lot of improvements

We stayed with our family for a wedding function in Kayamkulam.
Overall this is not the best place stay with family.
There is a adjacent bar in the same building with full crowd during evening we need to cross this area for parking, family will hesitate for sure.
The room facilities are ok, except few issues, the aircon remote was hanging in roof to adjust settings, bad access.
Cleanliness to be improved.
Hot water system is not working properly.
Staffs are good.

Horrible. Stay away.

There are no words to describe how much more this could go wrong.
1. Cleanliness- the reception area and the couch is covered in houseflies. Good was to welcome guests right? Rooms are not at all cleaned. Bathrooms are just terribly maintained. Not even a bar soap/handwash had been kept . They expect you to carry that. Duh.
2. Food- below average. They first told to go have from outside bacuase their kitchen is understaffed and room service is not available. Can you believe that? After much fighting they agreed to have something arranged.
3. Service- The staff here dont care. They giggle in front of us when we try to explain a problem. It just irritates you like anything. Wondering if they are officially qualified for this job cause they behave like school kids. The whole staff needs to be seriously fired. Let someone who knows the job take it.
4. Rating - 3 star. DON'T BELIEVE IT. This one doesn't deserve it as I saw it. Period.

Horrible - Huge number of ant bites while sleeping

For some reason I have to write 200 words to relate the fact that my four hour stay in the hot room was a complete disaster.
I woke up itching all over and pulled back the sheets to find my bed covered with thousands of tiny biting ants.
When I left to go to the train station they told me there was no transport. At midnight I walked down unlit roads with three bags to the rmtrain station, scratching from all of my bites.

Budget rooms only

The hotel is situated just half KM from railway station and still autorickshaw charges 50 if he understands you are a newcomer. It is located on the highway and slightly outside town though approx only 1km. The room I got was too damp and the smell was unbearable. maybe because of this reason the hotel staff switched on AC despite me having booked a non-AC room. The dampness seems to be ruining the wall paints, wooden furniture and everything it can. Room was spacious but TV wasnt working as the settop box wasnt having recharge amount. I requested them few times but still it wasnt updated. Taps and mixers in bathroom were coming off, not sufficient hot water because limitations of small solar geyser maybe. They do have a big kitchen and restaurent sign on the main street but always have reasons why they cant give you tea or anything else either in room or in restaurent. maybe too shy to accept the kitchen is non-functional for guests. And there are not other tea shops or restaurents in vicinity too. But kayankulam appeared to be a small town with not many choices as hotel rooms.
