Wonderful property and great hospitality, arrival could be better
RAAS Jodhpur is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful heritage hotels I’ve stayed at. The property itself is spacious, beautifully designed, and offers arguably the finest views of Mehrangarh Fort. Every corner of the hotel blends contemporary luxury with Jodhpur’s rich heritage, making it a truly memorable place to stay.
What impressed me the most was the hospitality. The warmth, professionalism, and attentiveness of the team were easily on par with some of the finest luxury hotel brands. Everyone was courteous, welcoming, and genuinely eager to make our stay comfortable.
The food at Baradari was exceptional. The Laal Maas was outstanding, and the team even thoughtfully served us freshly prepared bajra roti from their side, which was a lovely local touch. Every dish we tried was excellent, although I personally felt the biryani could have been a little better.
The rooftop is another highlight of the property. Enjoying cocktails while overlooking the illuminated Mehrangarh Fort is an experience in itself. The drinks were well-crafted, the ambience was fantastic, and the views are simply unforgettable. The only slight interruption was the call to prayer from the nearby mosque, but that is naturally outside the hotel’s control and is simply part of staying within the historic walled city.
The only aspect of our stay that genuinely concerned me was the arrival experience.
Before arriving, I specifically asked the hotel whether the property was easily accessible by car, as we were travelling with luggage. I was informed that it was.
However, the reality was quite different. We were delayed by around 40–50 minutes because multiple cab drivers refused to accept the ride after learning the destination. Eventually, one driver explained that regular cabs cannot directly access the hotel due to the narrow lanes. He dropped us near Ghanta Ghar and advised us to take an autorickshaw for the remaining distance.
Finding an auto wasn’t straightforward either, with several drivers quoting unreasonable fares before we finally managed to reach the hotel after a rather bumpy ride through the narrow streets.
Ironically, once we arrived, we noticed that the hotel has its own authorised auto-rickshaws operating inside the old city.
I believe this is an area where the arrival experience could be significantly improved. Rather than simply informing guests that the hotel is accessible by car, the pre-arrival team could provide clear guidance on the most efficient way to reach the property, especially during busy days such as Sundays when the Ghanta Ghar area becomes extremely crowded.
An even better solution would be for the hotel to station one of its own auto-rickshaws or a small arrival desk near the Ghanta Ghar drop-off point. Guests could then be transferred comfortably for the final 500 metres without worrying about finding local transport, negotiating fares, or navigating the congested lanes. It would make the first impression of the hotel as seamless and luxurious as the stay itself.
Despite this one concern, the experience once inside the property was excellent. The spectacular setting, outstanding hospitality, delicious food, and unforgettable views make RAAS Jodhpur a truly special place to stay.
A heartfelt thank you to the entire RAAS Jodhpur team for making our stay memorable. With a slightly more refined arrival experience, this would be close to a perfect heritage hotel.

Jodhpur city stay with luxury
We were welcomed with a very warm reception and were very impressed by the hospitality and conduct of Manish, Mohit at front desk… Bapi in the restaurant and their in house guide Tribhuwan.
I recommend this property for all those who want luxury with old city stay, experience and magnificent views of the fort.

Jewel of Jodhpur
From the moment you step of the busy snd fascinating street your in a very special place, we had a beautiful room that looked up to the huge fort with space to sit on the veranda a soak up the history.
There is a roof bar where we sat and enjoyed drinks and snacks as the sun disappears behind the fort, then you can choose from two locations to enjoy dinner. There is an extensive menu of indian and international cuisine to choose from, I have to say the food was exceptional as was the service. We ate in every night as it was so good. You can also get snacks and drinks at the step cafe which overlooks an ancient and beautiful well, you can also pop across the road to a sister hotel which had another wonderful roof bar to view the fort as the sun goes down.
The spa was amazing snd here I was introduced to the ancient indian art of Ayurvedic massage. The amazing Raheel who trained in Kerala where this branch of healing originates, gave me on two occasions the most amazing oil massage where sweeping long strokes reinvigorate the body . It was an incredible experience to say the least and not for the faint hearted. I loved it and it’s only unfortunate that normal massage now simply don’t cut it.
We had a guide Ram from the hotel take us to visit the amazing fort, which is a must do experience. How this was ever built snd run is a mystery.
Ram also showed us around the Blue City and took us to some local fabric retailers, where we spent a couple of hours buying beautiful silks and cashmere throws etc. we also had the obligatory Jodhpur jackets made.
The whole Rass experience was off to an amazing start in Jodhpur and as we had opted for the Rass hopper package we were off to Rass Jaipur to continue the Adventure.
Book it you will not be disappointed, the Rass team took great care of us and arranged everything so perfectly.

Dreamlike hotel in the heart of Jodhpur
We had a two-storey suite where nothing was missing, including two balconies. The (Indian) food was excellent both for breakfast and dinner, the wine list as in all Indian hotels limited but still ok.
The staff was attentive and friendly, the only criticisms were the poorly adjustable air conditioning and the muezzin, which started its chants from the neighboring minaret already at 5:30. For this purpose, however, there are Oropax in every room, which you should really use - then nothing stands in the way of a enjoyable stay !
