Loved being surrounded by forest

We loved Bastar Jungle Resort, and we were well looked after by the very kind Mr Gerrard and his team. The resort is set away off the beaten track, surrounded by forest. The dawn and dusk birdsong of the forest was very special, and I slept unbelievably well. The rooms were enormous, with comfy beds, and huge bathrooms with excellent showers and hot water. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and it was great to have the space to spread out stuff after a number of days of dusty travelling. The large verandahs attached to the rooms were perfect for sitting out for our evening tipple before heading to supper. It was calm and peaceful and we were sorry to leave. To manage expectations, the resort does need a little love and attention, and a good gardener is needed to tame some of the out of control plants which would benefit from cutting back, but on the other hand, we all just thoroughly enjoyed the slightly wild nature of the place, and the peace. And we much enjoyed meeting Mr Gerrard.

much room for improvement

Too bad the first three rooms are nice
Then the devastated ., I must say that the second night they cleaned and it was better

A MAGICAL PLACE

The setting is nice, quiet in the middle of nature. The houses are equipped with all comforts, clean, cozy and very spacious. The owners with the staff are truly extraordinary people, of a never seen welcome always attentive and caring that you lack nothing. The outdoor restaurant is very special, for 2 nights we stayed here they made us taste their specialties 'thanks Stefania Fabio ITALY

Not a great place for the price paid.

The stay was faraway from other places.. almost 50km from Chitrakoot. You need to drive through pathetic road of protruding stones of 2.5 km to reach the property. The food is cooked in unhygienic place. I had fished two insects in breakfast.
If maintained well, it could become a place of interest. For now, I don't recommend.

A quiet and comfortable resort in the forest

We were a bit worried about the Bastar Jungle Resort because there didn’t seem to be many recent reviews, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The resort is under the management of Mr Gerrard, and he and his staff were very pleased to look after all our requirements and to go the extra mile for us. The rooms were comfortable with very nice sit-out areas to enjoy the afternoons and evenings. We appreciated the lovely walk in the forest, led by the assistant manager, and our chance to visit the nearby village. We loved our sense that the jungle was so nearby, and the sound of animals at night also reminded us of this fact! The food was delicious once we reassured the chef that we were able to digest spices in the same way as the locals. The whole experience of quiet and restfulness in beautiful grounds was unmissable.
