lovely stay!

A lovely stay with very friendly and helpful hosts! I spent two nights here, and as it was off-season, I was the only guest and was looked after perfectly. Delicious Indian breakfasts and dinners, and afternoon tea. Situated right by a canal, I went on a boat trip organised by the Emerald Isle and enjoyed an Ayurvedic massage there.
The room had an en-suite bathroom, though – as is often the case with old wooden houses – it was rather dark. However, there was plenty of space on the beautiful grounds to spend time outdoors!

Great experience in ancestral country house.

Located in the middle of the backwaters and well maintained country house with impressive garden that has been in the same family for 3 generations. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great food and more than enough to do in the area. Recommended

Overall, Emerald Isle is a perfect choice for anyone looking for a relaxing, heritage feel and memorable Alleppey experience. Highly recommended for its beautiful environment, exquisite stay, and stunning backwater location!

Beautiful and relaxing!

We were here as a family of 4 for 3 days in April. The team was very welcoming and made us feel at home right away.
The rooms are full of history and very comfortable. The property has a beautiful garden that's very relaxing to walk through, and there's a pond where children could learn to fish.
The food was excellent, with typical dishes, that the team would easily adapt to our children's palate, less appreciative of heat.
Outside the property, we're in backwaters country, with great walks along the water and local houses. We recommend the Shikara boat tour, it's very contemplative and peaceful. And the sunsets are just amazing!

Beautiful homestay in laid back environment

Lovely authentic homestay in a beautiful building with a lot of atmosphere! The home cooked food was amazing, varied and healthy, and owner Vijo was super helpful while also respecting guests’ privacy. We did a boat trip and a massage, which we both loved. Would recommend!
