A place to recommend for sure!

Location & Facilities are all Superb!
I suggest more attentiveness on cleaning the room hence there was a bit of dust & crumbs found.
For the rest everything went well!

Nice hotel, little out of the way of the centre of Budapest but not too far to be of concern. Tour group hotel so expect it to be busy when you stay.

The reception desk is seriously understaffed. If there are more than two guests ahead of you, expect to wait at least 30 minutes.
At the end of my stay, the staff was unable to print or send me the final bill. I’m still waiting, but I haven’t received a response yet. In addition, the staff charged me an extra fee of 400 Ft per night without my consent. I’m still waiting for a refund.
The check-out experience ruined the otherwise positive impression of my entire stay.

The beds were disgusting. This is my main complaint No mattress protectors. old, soiled therefore totally unhygienic Pillows uncomfortable again no protectors The bath hot tap dribbled out took half hour to half fill the bath. decor dated and furniture scruffy carpet stained. Curtains didn't totally cover windows. Messages sent via booking platform ignored Had a real battle to get 6 nights refunded which I managed eventually through booking platform and left the property . I managed to get the duly manager to meet me in the room and went through the entire complaint which he totally agreed with me and stated he would refer the complaint to his superiors by email and request a 100% refund. No result has been forthcoming in this regard only 6 of 8 nights was refunded by the hotel yet I spent 2 nights arguing about the disgusting state of the room. This Hotel is trading under the Verdi brand name as 4 stars. This is a gross misrepresentation. It is poorly managed corporate takeover that are only interested in money. They should treat their customers with respect I am sure the management wouldn't like to sleep on mattresses without protective cover of human fluids. Let's see if management answer this review after seeing the photos

Good location for the Sziget Festival, but the hotel could use a modernization.

Positive
We stayed as a couple for five nights at the Verdi Budapest Aquincum, mainly due to the Sziget Festival. For that, the location is really very good. The festival grounds can be reached in about 30 minutes on foot. The connection to the city center is also good by train and bus. It takes about 25 minutes to get to Deák Ferenc tér.
Upon our arrival, the crowd was very large due to the festival. A positive aspect was that fresh water is available in the entrance area at all times. Dogs were also considered, as two water bowls are provided.
The hotel is quite large with its four floors and numerous rooms. The three elevators worked very well, were modern, and were each quickly available. We practically never had to wait long.
Our room offered sufficient space for two people and was functionally and generally pleasantly furnished. The amenities included, among other things, a 0.75 l bottle of mineral water, an empty minibar, and a safe. Bathrobes were also already provided in the room, as unlimited access to the spa was included in the stay. Room service worked reliably, cleaned up well, and regularly provided us with fresh towels.
The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. We were also greeted in a friendly manner in the corridors each time.
The spa area is located in the basement and was overall fine in terms of equipment. There is a gym, mixed saunas, as well as separate saunas for women. In addition, several pools are available, including a larger pool with a depth of up to 1.80 m and about 24 °C, as well as two shallower pools with approximately 20 °C.
The breakfast buffet offers a large selection and, at around 15 €, is in our view reasonably priced. We also felt the prices in the River Bar, where lunch and dinner are offered, were fair. We had lunch there once. The shrimp in garlic were good, even if not quite at the level of comparable Spanish tapas. The club sandwich with french fries, on the other hand, was really very delicious and well prepared.
Also practical are the numerous parking spaces in front of the hotel as well as the available storage options for e-scooters.
Negative
Already at check-in, it became apparent that some processes seem a bit dated. Although four employees were working at the reception at the same time, we had to wait about 35 minutes due to the large crowd. Especially during a major event like the Sziget Festival, there would be room for improvement here in our view. At least it is positive that key cards made of a type of cardboard are already being used.
The room itself also seemed a bit older in places. The biggest problem for us was the air conditioning. Although we had reported this to the reception, the situation did not improve. Although the unit did blow a little air into the room, any real cooling was hardly noticeable. Especially in August, that was correspondingly unpleasant.
The bathroom was fine in terms of size, although there were several points that should be improved. The bathtub gave way slightly when stepping in, the water pressure of the shower was relatively weak, and the shower hose was clearly rusty and, in our view, should be replaced urgently. In addition, the toilet cistern started to splash audibly again and again after some time, which can be particularly annoying at night.
The bed was reasonably comfortable, though nothing special. We did not use the television during our stay and therefore cannot make any statement about the available programming.
The whirlpool in the spa area could also use a renovation. In several places, the plastic covers on the edges had already come loose, which gives the otherwise tidy spa area a clearly worn impression.
Conclusion
Overall, our stay at the Verdi Budapest Aquincum was okay. Especially during the Sziget Festival, the location is a big advantage, as the festival grounds are within walking distance and there is also a good connection to the Budapest city center. We also liked the friendly staff, the reliable room service, the fast elevators, and the included spa access.
However, you can tell the hotel's age in various places. In particular, the non-functioning air conditioning as well as some signs of wear in the bathroom and spa area should be improved. At a price of around €160 per night during our stay, we would have expected a bit more overall.
For a stay during the Sziget Festival, we would certainly consider the hotel again due to its location. Without this location advantage, however, we would be less likely to recommend it at this price-performance ratio.
