Great resort!

The staff were amazing, they were all incredibly welcoming and kind every single day. I did not feel too great towards the end of the trip so my husband ended up going to breakfast alone and the waiters, Sandesh and Sandip, were so accommodating. They sent him back to the room with a to-go box with breakfast for me.
The food was amazing and the portions were huge. We always had left overs to bring back to the room. We opted for the half board option so every night we had an appetizer and salad to share, an entree for each of us, and dessert. We were never able to finish it all but everything was always delicious. The vibe in the restaurant was very chill and they gave us time to eat, talk, and enjoy the atmosphere. I would definitely come back simply because of the restaurant alone, however the villa we stayed in was amazing too.
We spent most of our time in the private pool at our villa and it was always so relaxing. We also went down to the end of the road to see the sea and it was gorgeous. You definitely can’t swim in that spot, but it was nice that it was so close to the resort.
I thought the value of the hotel was great. For what we paid for the room and food, we got our moneys worth. The villa was cleaned daily and we were given fresh towels when they came. I have zero complaints about the inside of the villa or the area surrounding it. People were constantly driving around doing maintenance, cleaning, and in general checking to make sure everything was okay. During the day, you could hardly tell other people were staying at the resort it was so quiet. The only time we ever saw other guests was at dinner. However there is a house nearby and they were having, what sounded like, a rave on our last night we thought it was funny and enjoyed seeing people have fun. The music was only loud for maybe 2 minutes so it wasn’t crazy, haha.
Also, we enjoyed the surprise visit from Smarty! He was the cutest little dog and we were thrilled to meet him too!

Worst "5 star" Ive stayed at, spend your money elsewhere.

I was extremely disappointed. This is a 4 star hotel, with an extremely impoverished breakfast compared to its own rating. I was brought to a small room near the entrance where everybody could see me in the plunge pool. The pools machinery was constantly loud. The view was also to the electrical wiring. The bathroom was dark and full of ants. There were only 2 coffee capsules available, where in other 5 star hotels on Santorini it has been unlimited. The interior was dated and impersonal. The breakfast "buffet" was only 1 small dish to order. 3 small dry pieces of bread with jam. The omelett i ordered was small with 3 slices of cucumber and 3 slices of tomatoes. No sallads. No fruits. All other hotels in have stayed at on Santorini was unlimited buffet or unlimited a la cart. They did not help me carry my large suitcase and bags up to the reception from the parking. The staff just said no when i asked for a vegetables instead of bread for breakfast. Then they said ok after i was persistent. Then they still brought med bread. As a courtesy generally staff also know who you are as a guest, but maybe that is just reserved for top notch places. The owners have a lot to work on to say the least. All in all, I came to indulge in a 5 star hotel. I've stayed in many 5 star hotels in my life. I've stayed in many hotels in Santorini. This was the worst value and should call itself a 4 star at max. Choose somewhere to spend your valuable hard earned money and time elsewhere.

Excellent!

We stayed at Desiterra from August 10th to 18th! Our experience was excellent! Very good location, spotless, excellent service! Thank you to the staff and especially to Michalis Koutouzis, Thanasis at the reception, and Sandech at the service! We will definitely go again!

A fantastic stay, especially if you are traveling with a dog.

We have enjoyed our stay at this beautiful boutique hotel in Santorini very much. We traveled as a family and with our dog and stayed in one of their villas, which we loved from the first moment. The villa was in perfect condition, very well-maintained, with beautiful decor and everything necessary to enjoy a few days of true rest.
The hotel is located in a very quiet area, ideal if you are looking to disconnect. There is no beach or many services within walking distance and it is not in the center of the busiest areas of Santorini, but for us, it was not an inconvenience at all. With a car, it is very easy to get around the island and, in return, you enjoy a lot of tranquility.
The facilities are very well-maintained: a wonderful pool, a very nice gym, and a restaurant where we ate really well.
But, without a doubt, the best part of our stay was the staff. The treatment was exceptional at all times, both from the bar and restaurant team and from the front desk. Everyone was incredibly kind and attentive. We also had the opportunity to speak with the owner, a charming person and especially a dog lover. They made us feel really comfortable traveling with our pet and we greatly appreciated that, in addition to welcoming him with so much affection, they did not charge us any supplement for staying with him. It is a detail that we value enormously and that says a lot about the hotel's philosophy.
As the only aspect to improve, we would point out the breakfast; it worked à la carte: you could choose a single dish and any additional option meant a supplement. We believe that this system should be reviewed, especially considering it is a five-star hotel, where we would expect a more complete and flexible breakfast included in the stay.

Amazing stay!

Just returned from a 10 day stay here, it was perfect! Away from the busy towns and villages, this was a peaceful sanctuary after day trips etc! We stayed in a Signature villa with sea view and private infinity pool, our teenage son stayed in the upper floor, which gave him his own space. We loved having our own pool! And the view was stunning! The villa was immaculate, the cleaners do a great job every day. There is a small kitchen with fridge (small freezer compartment), cupboards and sink which was really handy.
The staff are ALL just fantastic, from the restaurant, cleaners, receptionists/concierges, drivers - everyone is very friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them, they just want you to have the best stay! And we did! Special mention to Sandesh, Sandip and Pemba who made sure we were well looked after in the restaurant every day!
We had breakfast daily, this was fantastic, you choose from a great menu selection and it is freshly cooked, no lukewarm, dried out buffet food here! We ate dinner and lunch a couple of times and the food was lovely.
Had a massage in the spa and it was amazing, so good! The spa was clean, luxurious and very relaxing!
There is also a communal pool that we used on our last day after we checked out of our villa, it was great with cabana beds to sunbathe on, all very clean and well maintained.
We hired a car in the end as taxis are expensive here, it costs approx €20 each way to Fira for example which is 10 min drive away. There are no buses locally that you can get to. We did use the Desiterra transfer a couple of times which is a bit cheaper than a taxi but still adds up.
We were very happy staying at the Desiterra and came away feeling totally relaxed and well looked after. Well done to all the team for your hard work.
All in all, would thoroughly recommend Desiterra and would very happily book again!
