10/10 would recommend
My 2 sisters and I stayed for 12 days and had such a wonderful time. Georgia and the staff were so welcoming. Breakfast in the morning was beautiful and was a nice range with great portions!! The rooms were very clean, with a kitchen and was modern would 100% come back was a great location with a pool and so close to the beach and restaurants.

DO NOT BOOK HERE!
AVOID THESE APARTMENTS LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!! We left after one night ( we wanted to leave sooner but had to sort alternative accommodation!!!!) The pool is absolutely filthy with hair and scum on the surface. The water is so murky, you can't actually see the bottom. Old discarded fridges and shopping trolleys on the sides of the complex with grass areas littered with rubbish not to mention the health and safety hazards all around the apartment. We have lots of photos to represent this sadly. We are in the process of trying to get our money back but have been ignored by the owner.

Feel relaxed
We vacationed right at the end of the season, which should be taken into account in my assessment. (In high season, the pool and beach bar are obviously crowded and noisy.)
It is not a traditional hotel, but a combination of apartments and a swimming pool + beach bar/restaurant open to all, which forms a hotel-like combination.
The staff mainly works in the restaurant and there is no reception desk. If you arrive late in the evening or at night, the place seems eerily quiet. Don't worry though, everything is ok. Georgia (the owner of the place) posted the instructions before our arrival via Booking, so follow the messages carefully. (we didn't follow)
For the price, everything went (after our initial confusion) excellently during our stay.
The location of the place is excellent between the beach and the main street of the village. It was really quiet at night and there was no noise disturbing sleep at all, even though there is a walkway to the beach under the balcony and the hotel next door is very close. There are dozens of good restaurants nearby, of which I highly recommend Mirella's Pie for lunch, and Finikas is the best place for dinner!
The hotel's own breakfast is especially pleasant! All drinks and food are served to the tables and you can actually eat on the beach! The breakfast also varied appropriately, meaning that the same set was not served every morning. And you can get as much more as you want.
The bathroom in our suite (2 rooms with a sliding door between them) was really pleasant, the beds and pillows good and the air conditioners (2 quiet and well-functioning). The kitchen in the room is a bit sparsely equipped, but it didn't bother us. Special mention to the water points at the front door and on the back balcony + floor drains for rinsing beach chairs, etc.! The rooms are perhaps a bit minimalistic (a few coat racks on the wall would help a lot). On the other hand, there were a lot of sockets, which is a very good thing for a family of 5.
Some of the staff do not speak English, but most of them are at least helpful and some really well. There is nothing to criticize about the service. Georgia and the others helped whenever they could.
The cleanliness of the outdoor areas could be improved a bit, but there was no major problem.

Two unpleasant nights at the Gold apartments
I spent two unpleasant nights with my family at the Gold apartments on the outskirts of Rethymno on the island of Crete.
It immediately presented itself as a simple and uncomfortable solution. Upon my arrival, I did not receive sheets for both beds we occupied but only for one of the two. Only on the second day and at my request was I provided with the missing sheet. The water in the shower was cold for both evenings, they replied that the water is heated with solar panels and that in the evening it could happen that the hot water ran out. At my request the electrical system for heating the water was turned on. The WIFI didn't work inside the apartment, it was suggested to me that the reception improved by looking out from the terrace and near the swimming pool. Furthermore, for an apartment designed for five people, the table on the terrace was too small. In short, if you want quality service, change location...

STAY AWAY!!!
Unacceptable service. Dirty room. Stay away!!!!!!
I paid for 3 nights and only stayed 1 because the room was not what was shown on Booking. The room was supposed to be deluxe with garden view and in reality it was a semi-basement room that smelled bad. The room was not clean, and when I asked for the sheets to be changed, a 20-year-old man who works at the bar came and just gave me the sheet to put on by myself! I spent 320 euros for three nights for an accommodation that was by far the worst I've ever been to! The TV didn't work, the cell phones didn't work. The owner is rude! If something similar happens to you, DO NOT stay, contact Booking IMMEDIATELY to get your money back!
