Lovely yet not a 5 star property
Took us a bit to find the manager to check us in and the check in process, if you want to call it that, was essentially non existent. We felt as if we were inconveniencing the owner / manager. Any questions we had , we received one word replies with zero warmth.
The grounds are beautiful and we had read that it was built by the owners yet if I didn’t know that, we’d never know. We gave ourselves a tour and figured out how the place works as we were given zero information except the WIFI password.
The rooms were clean and efficient yet sparse with furniture that was so basic and uncomfortable. There was no where to unpack your belongings
The pool was beautiful and the all the staff, besides the manager / owner were friendly and accommodating. The owner/manager would be at the bar or beach (often with his significant other) and ignored all guests … never a smile or acknowledgment. Of course he can have a life too it just felt so unwelcoming.
The beach was lovely! There were a bunch of loungers and it was a beautiful beach. There was ZERO staff at the beach so you had to walk upstairs to the pool if you wanted a drink. The only reason I mention this is bc they sell themselves a 5 star place. All the other beach areas had servers for guests at the beach.
The food was fresh and enjoyable… the hours for service were limited The days we stayed there was a cool breeze and the dining area was cold and no options to not sit outside … they should invest in a few heaters for this area.
I think Ammonthines has so much potential yet I’d not recommend it as a 5 star property. If they found a front desk person who REALLY could help customers to feel welcome and also a way to connect during their stay.
For example, we asked for help with dinner reservations and the manager was supposed to get back to us.. we saw him around the property and zero acknowledgment to us. Later that evening, while cleaning our room we found a note giving us reservation times and our ferry tickets. We had NO idea that was left for us. This doesn’t seem to be the best way to communicate with guests (we found this at 9 pm and it had a reservation listed for that evening that we never saw)

Check-in & Information: Our check-in process is designed to be comprehensive. Upon your arrival, our management team personally provided a detailed briefing regarding all property operations, including breakfast hours, our restaurant operating times (13:00 - 21:00), and the bar hours (closing at 11:30).
Beach Service: We do offer dedicated beach service daily from 11:00 to 19:00. It is unfortunate if you missed our staff during these designated hours, as our team is consistently present to serve our guests on the beach.
Room Delivery & Communications: Regarding the envelope left in your room, your ferry tickets were placed there strictly following the explicit instructions we received from your booking agent. Inside the same personalized envelope—which clearly bore your name—was the written confirmation for the dinner reservations you had requested. We consider delivering requested documents and confirmations securely to a guest's private room a standard professional practice, and we are sorry if this caused any confusion.
Our goal is always to deliver a high-quality, authentic Cycladic experience, and our management works tirelessly alongside our staff to maintain these 5-star standards. We wish you safe travels on your future journeys.

Stunning beachfront hotel!
Our bartender everyday was one of the best bartenders we have ever had. He was attentive and made very special drinks. You could tell how much effort he put into his craft. The food was all farm to table and so delicious! All of the staff was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast which was included was amazing!
The beach access was easy and comfortable. The beach this hotel is located on was crystal clear and stunning.

However, we must admit that we are genuinely surprised by the rest of your comments. Given that your daughter had previously visited and enjoyed our property so much that it prompted your own stay, we were truly looking forward to providing you with an equally exceptional experience.
Regarding our gym, your feedback stands in stark contrast to the excellent reviews we consistently receive from our guests, many of whom utilize the facilities daily and appreciate the setup.
We also regret that there was a misunderstanding regarding the natural wine we offered you as a gesture of hospitality. As a premium Cycladic property, we take pride in sourcing authentic, high-quality local products. Natural, organic wines inherently contain natural sediment (izima) as they are unfiltered—this is a characteristic of their pure quality rather than a defect. When it was returned, we immediately respected your preference and offered complimentary drinks at our bar.
As for the comments regarding rudeness and a deserted atmosphere, these do not align with the warm, personalized hospitality and lively yet relaxing ambiance that our team and management work hard to maintain every day, as reflected in the vast majority of our guests' reviews.
