Picturesque stay

The room was absolutely picturesque, the bed very comfortable, a lot of care was given to details. The definition of boutique rooms. They also have a lovely garden. The rooms are located in the street just behind the main pedestrian street of Sfakia where all shops and restaurants are, so it does not really get more central than that. There is no breakfast, but there is a baker literally a few steps away. Being itself in a pedestrian street, you cannot access the hotel by car, but from the town square it is less than 100m away and you get a parking card to park at the public parking.

Wonderful stay in Sfakia

We received the warmest of welcomes from Giannis upon arrival.
Our room was beautifully decorated and had very useful facilities including a fridge and kettle. There was water and juice in the fridge and toast, jam & butter too.
The balcony was small but perfect and had a handy clothes airer.
Quite a surprise was the wonderful shady garden for use by guests. It was a little oasis both day and evening. The perfect spot for a cup of tea or reading your book.
We received a handy parking permit for the main car park too.
Location of the property was perfectly central for all Sfakia offers.

Charming apartment in a fabulous location

We were stunned by the warm hospitality and the cosy apartment provided by Giannis and Niki. The room was cleaned often - always to an incredibly high standard. The fridge was topped-up daily with water and breakfast snacks. The secret, walled garden is a delight, and a great spot to introduce yourself to the family's cat. For a small village, Sfakia offers everything that you could possibly want from holiday in Crete. With a small bakery (Markos & Niki) next door, and numerous tavernas just minutes away, Sofia's Lovely Rooms are centrally located in the heart of this proudly authentic Cretan town. Small, safe and child friendly, Vrissi beach is only 5 minutes walk from the apartments. Kyaks and other fun stuff can be hired on the beach. In the local tavernas you'll need to adapt to Cretan dining etiquette. The mood is traditional and unhurried, so it's best to relax and let the waiters deliver their family oriented service. For arrivals and departures, a second self service bakery (Ntourountous) is located close to the Sfakia car park and bus station. Here you can choose, and pay at the counter for, sandwiches and an eye-popping range of Greek pastries. Their large, shaded patio is a great place to wait with a coffee for a bus or ferry.
