Outstanding
The hotel itself is quirky, fun, and just right in terms of walking distance to major sites. The area isn't fancy, and looks run-down (as does much of Athens), but the hotel itself and the area stores were just fine.
Highly recommend.

The room was small but enough space for the 2 of us.
It was clean and comfortable.
Location wise is fine - it’s about a 15-20 min walk to the main tourist areas. The area surrounding the hotel looks a bit rough around the edges but that didn’t impact our time.
Staff were great and helpful!

Extremely Disappointing Experience
We reserved a room in early July, but it no longer suited our needs. We attempted to cancel within two days of our stay, but due to limited Wi‑Fi access, we were unable to successfully notify the hotel. Despite our efforts, Colors did not receive the cancellation until one day prior to our stay, and as a result, we were charged for the room.
The initial room booked did not meet our needs, although we did reserve an alternate room within Colors, as did another family member. In the end, we paid for three rooms and only utilized two.
The front desk staff did attempt to resolve the issue but were unsuccessful. Management — Xanthippi Kazakou, Sofia Eleftheriadou, and Angela Mantziorou — refused to return the money for the unused room. Colors received payment for three rooms, despite one of those rooms never being used, and made no effort to correct the situation.
During our stay, it was clear that not all rooms were booked. This left us with the impression that the hotel was more concerned with generating additional revenue than supporting its guests.
We will not be returning, and we will share our dissatisfaction with anyone willing to listen.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry that this situation affected your overall impression of Colors Hotel. However, we would like to clarify the circumstances, as we believe some important details in your review may give a misleading impression of what occurred.
The reservation in question was made through a third-party booking platform and was subject to a clearly stated cancellation policy, which allowed free cancellation up to three days prior to arrival. Unfortunately, the cancellation request was received by the hotel within those three days, meaning that it was already outside the free cancellation period and the reservation had therefore become non-refundable.
It is also important to clarify that, once the cancellation deadline had passed, the room remained specifically reserved and blocked exclusively for your booking. This meant that we could not make the room available to another guest or resell it, regardless of whether it was ultimately occupied. Therefore, the fact that other rooms may have been available in the hotel during your stay does not change the circumstances of this particular reservation.
We would also like to emphasize that our team did make an effort to find a solution for you. Although we were unable to provide a refund outside the agreed cancellation terms, we offered an alternative gesture of goodwill, including a 15% discount on a future direct booking, breakfast free of charge, and a complimentary room upgrade, subject to availability. Unfortunately, this proposed solution was not accepted.
We therefore respectfully disagree with the suggestion that Colors Hotel was unwilling to assist or was primarily concerned with generating additional revenue. Our decision was based solely on the cancellation terms accepted at the time of booking and the fact that the room had remained exclusively committed to your reservation after the cancellation deadline.
We sincerely regret that we were unable to reach a solution that met your expectations. Nevertheless, we appreciate your feedback and hope that this clarification provides a more complete and accurate picture of the circumstances.
