What a Find!
We could have wandered into the bustling resort of Val-les-Bains, but opted for Laurent's cooking, which turned out to be a very wise decision! We started with kiers on the terrace followed by a dinner of baby ravioli on a bed of salad to start, then very tender pork fillet with baked courgette and aubergines with scallop potatoes. The sweet was a lovely mango iced pudding with Grand Marnier sauce. We had the wonderful company of Laurent, Stephanie, their three lovely daughters and a very friendly young couple from Lyon. What a great evening - good food, wine and company - what more could you ask for. p.s. Very good breakfast next day too - fruit compote, yogurts, cheeses, meats, freshly cooked bread and mini danish pastries.

Warm welcome in this lovely chambre d'hote
In dead-end street, so very quiet location even though you are right in the centre.
Free parking in front of the entrance.
Laurent is very friendly and helpful. He makes sure his guests have everything they want. Our last night he prepared us a wonderful 3 course dinner we enjoyed in the garden.
Also the breakfast was great. The buffet included homemade cake and jams, cheeses, breads, charcuterie, yoghurt, juices etc. We loved our stay!

Lovely, relaxing and welcoming
The breakfast was amazing particularly. The fresh jams, croissants, breads, cheeses - seriously good and enjoying it outside overlooking the pool in the valley was one of the highlights of our trip. As we were staying with our young son, we were given a room with a baby cot as requested but they also provided us with a room with a microwave, kettle, and even a baby bath. Not only that, but they were able to watch our son once he was asleep while we went to the evening portion of the wedding reception.
We also enjoyed swimming in the pool and Laurent helped us with recommendations for the area and booking taxis for us.
Very highly recommended. If we have a chance to return to the area we will definitely stay here again. Laurent and his family certainly went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible time while staying there.
