Excellent restaurant

While in the resort for a short stay, we decided to treat ourselves to dinner at the restaurant of this hotel ideally located in the heart of the resort.
Warm welcome, smiling and attentive staff. A varied menu that will satisfy all tastes, with a special mention for wine selection. Excellent cuisine.
We extended the experience to dessert: the pear pie, as far as I was concerned, was delicious.
Despite the number of seats and the length of the meal, the service remained efficient and impeccable throughout.
An address not to be missed.

Underwhelming Experience not in keeping with the lofty price paid for a 4* hotel.

The breakfast was the highlight of the 4-night stay in a 4* hotel which by far was the most $$$$$ ever spent on a hotel.
The room provided on the top floor was spacious, with an Alpine style but very dated and in need to be brought into the 21st century with the 2" shag carpet a bit odd?
With the large balcony and open space, my initial impression was positive however that soon changed as there was hair on the c/top in the bathroom and on entering the shower, there was pubic hair in the corner of the walk-in shower, soap scun in the grout lines and mold seeping out of the caulking in the corners.... not good.
When noted to the FD Staff, as I headed out to dinner, I asked for the Manager who was hiding around the corner and refused to speak with me until I later shared pics.
We met the next day in the afternoon after skiing and while she dismissed my concerns as maintenance [?] and refused to offer any form of compensation such as a credit to be used in the Dining Room or Spa.
I was provided a different room on the other side of the hotel, not accessible by the elevator on the entry level , rather up 2 sets of steps, making the move ineffecient.
The new room itself had a different look [more chic modern] and a nicer bathroom but the room space was smaller, [not an upgrade] with 1 smaller balcony and the carpet was filthy, permanently damaged by stains and a lack of proper cleaning between stays, that was obvious [pics] and in need of replacement, again dismissed as wear & tear.
There was a build up of soap scum and dirty grout lines in the shower, not in keeping with a 4* hotel at $1,000.00/CAD per night.
When noted to the FD Manager, she suggested I find a different hotel and again refused any form of compensation.
With 2 nights down and 2 to go, having unpacked and set up in Room 1 and then packing up and moving rooms and setting up again [2+ weeks of ski and casual gear], the thought and effort and wasted time to repeat was not going to happen and to be out on the street looking for another hotel, last minute was a futile effort.
Also surprising was the Nespreso machine and the low end coffee pods in the Nespresso box, eventually replaced by Nespresso pods after I had obtainerd a few from another hotel.
By far, the breakfast was some form of saving grace but it no way made up for the experience for the money spent.
Pics to follow....

Dear Guest,
We are sincerely surprised by your comments, as throughout your stay our team made every effort to meet your expectations and ensure your satisfaction.
Regarding cleanliness, the room was of course thoroughly cleaned prior to your arrival. Following your remark, we immediately took action, including carrying out a deep cleaning of the carpet. The visible marks are due to normal wear over time and, despite our constant attention, cannot be entirely removed during the high season.
The points you raised concerning the bathroom were also taken very seriously. However, the photos you mention do not reflect the overall condition of the room, as they were taken in extreme close-up of details that are barely visible to the naked eye.
At no point did we minimize your concerns. On the contrary, we took the time to discuss them with you and implemented several concrete actions, including a room change, with the assistance of our team to move your personal belongings.
Regarding the coffee, we do work with a partner who supplies the entire hotel. In an effort to accommodate your request, we exceptionally ordered Nespresso capsules specifically for you.
Despite all these efforts, it seems we were unable to fully meet your expectations, which we regret.
Finally, we would like to point out that your stay had not been settled upon your departure, a situation we also had to resolve afterwards.
Best regards,
Elisa - Hotel Operations Manager

Fantastic central cosy hotel

Fantastic hotel, homely and cosy located right in the middle of the town! 5 minute walk to the main gondula.
Lovely friendly staff, on reception and in the bar. Not fussy. Made you feel right at home.
Stayed in the Mountain View room, which was huge. Loads of shelves and hooks for ski wear, and two huge wardrobes. Balcony was a lovely addition.
Spa is also lovely with a big pool, jacuzzi and steam and sauna.
Breakfast every morning was a treat. Great selection of hot and cold.
Finally you get 25 percent off ski hire from the shop around the corner, and reception are happy to do passes for you- making it all really easy.
Would highly recommend and we are already planning our next trip there!

Great staff, nasty and dishonest management

While the frontline staff at this hotel are genuinely wonderful—the woman in the breakfast room, the young gentleman at the bar, the valets, and the front desk staff all deserve praise—the management completely undermines the experience.
We personally went to the desk to confirm that our party (three rooms) would be arriving a day late and, therefore, would not need the rooms. The manager verbally confirmed—twice—that we would not be charged. Despite this, we were later charged over $2,500 by a different manager for three rooms we did not stay in. When we pointed out that we had been explicitly told there would be no charge, management still refused to correct it. That isn't very ethical at best.
Even more disturbing: during our stay, a national ski team was in-house for a World Cup event. It is standard practice to allow these athletes and coaches to check out at 1 pm after racing. Instead, the same manager had housekeeping remove their belongings, stuff them into bags, and leave them outside the rooms. Watching young athletes and coaches who are already under immense pressure, being treated this way, was appalling.
Great staff. Terrible, untrustworthy management. I would not return.
