Great for families!

We stayed at the hotel lion d'or for 3 nights at the end of June 2026. As a family of 4, the suites were a perfect size for us, the location was excellent and staff wonderful! We had a kitchenette that allowed for groceries and breakfast in the room, and the loft would have been great had we not been there during a heat wave. While the room was air-conditioned, we were on the top floor under a tin roof that heated the room all day long. The loft was as hot as a sauna, even with blinds closed, a fan moving the air, and air conditioning blasting all day long. We had to move our kids' mattress to the main floor area, which led to a cramped room. It was fine for 3 nights and our room was comfortable enough to sleep in, but we were a bit miffed when we saw how bright and spacious (and cool) the lower floor lofts were. The front desk person claimed we had "the biggest loft in the hotel", but it did not feel that way. The lack of real windows (only sky lights that we kept covered due to extreme heat and sun) made it feel dark and small.
We completely understood that it was a heat wave and high tourist season, so I am still rating the hotel as 4 star. The price and location are unbeatable, and I would stay again- just not in the top floor loft and not during the peak of summer heat.
We loved the great places to eat around the corner and it was so easy to walk around central Paris from this location.

We are, however, truly sorry that the exceptional heatwave impacted your comfort. As you mentioned, the temperatures experienced during your stay were unusually high. Our top-floor suites, nestled beneath the rooftops of a traditional Parisian building, can unfortunately become warmer during such extreme weather conditions despite the air conditioning. We completely understand your disappointment and appreciate your understanding of the circumstances.
We are especially grateful that, despite this experience, you still recognized the value of our hotel and would consider staying with us again. For your next visit, we would be delighted to help you select a suite on a lower floor, which may better suit your preferences, particularly during the summer months.

First time to Paris!

Great Location, friendly, helpful staff, well air conditioned room, clean, comfortable beds. Nice amenities. The ceiling was a little low on the upper bunk for my teenager.

My stay was delightful from start to finish. Smooth check-in process, lovely and efficient room that met all my needs and especially appreciated the air conditioning :-) My favorite part was the amazing breakfast
The entrance is on a side street but I felt very safe even walking back at 11:00 p.m.
Many major sites are a close walk, also easy to get to bus stops.
Fantastic options for breakfast-- fresh baguettes and cheese, soft-boiled eggs & yogurt, cake & croissants and more!
As a solo traveler I'm always unsure of what situation I'll find at hotels but after reading other reviews I knew this place would be fantastic and it exceeded my expectations

We had a really nice stay here. There were three of us, including our 7-month-old baby. They were very kind and had the baby crib prepared in advance. The room was small but very nicely presented. The location is fantastic. We would love to come back!

Gem near Louvre

We loved this little gem. Location is perfect and on a side street so no traffic noise. Outstanding service and communication. Front desk staff was very welcoming and friendly. They reached out to us prior to our arrival inquiring if we had any special needs. I mentioned my son is unprecedentedly tall and they offered us a complementary upgrade. We loved the room-very modern and comfortable. It was on the 4th floor with no elevator but after just climbing the Swiss Alps it was no problem. The room has a kitchenette and nice bathroom. Previous comments mentioned a complementary mini bar but that was not the case. We were charged 3€ for a bottle of water. We didn’t try the restaurant (20€pp) because we wanted an early start for Notre Dame which had no queue. We ate out after. Overall I highly recommend this trendy boutique hotel!
