Lovely B&B with fine hospitality.

Special B&B in beautiful small village. Authentic property with surrounding garden and parking on site. Friendly welcome by host Arjen. There are 3 guest rooms, all different and richly decorated. Our room and shower room were comfortable, equipped with minibar and tea making facilities. We also reserved the table d’hôte: a fine 4-course menu by chef René. This is served in a beautiful panelled dining room, where you eat with the other guests, but do not sit directly next to each other. It's nice, though. Choice of a local red or white wine per half bottle. Excellent catered breakfast. Nice address on the route to / from the South. Nearby, the citadel city of Langres and the cheese dairy Germain are worth a visit.

Perfect stop over

This is a stunning chateau-stye country house in the middle of Chamagne region countryside.
The house has been loving restored and refurbished with a perfect blend of contemporary features amidst antique French furnishings.
Our room was La Comtesse and was more of a suite, than just a room. It had a seating area and views onto two sides of the garden.
Breakfast was served in the stunning wood panelled dining room and was fresh and plentiful. However the added bonus for us was the offer of a 4 course evening meal. We were only staying one night on our drive back home from Italy to the UK, so having dinner onsite after a long day of driving was absolutely perfect!
The food was in the local style and spectacularly delicious with a choice of local wines - highly recommend!!

Great address to spend the night

We have been here several times now. It is always a pleasure to spend the night here. Everything is arranged and taken care of down to the last detail. You will receive a super hospitable welcome. Arjan is a great host and Rene cooks amazingly. Nicely decorated rooms and a cozy dining room. You will spend the night here because you will receive such a wonderful welcome. and because everything is so neatly taken care of.

Highly recommended to stay!

Just below Dijon, in the historic village of Montsaugeon, lies the Chambre d'hôtes le Bailli de Montsaugeon. Le Bailli, run with great pleasure and hospitality by the Dutch Arjan and Rene, offers, in addition to the rooms la Comtesse, le Grenetier and le Châtelain, an attractive dinner/breakfast room where a delicious 4-course dinner and a particularly extensive breakfast are served upon request. Highly recommended, where the wines from the immediate area also contribute to, in this case, the end of a wonderful holiday in 'la douce'.

Last minute cancelation by host

Booked a room for the two of us and our baby. Asked the night before arrival if our baby could join dinner. Been told babies are not allowed because they could damage ‘precious and unreplacable’ furniture. Nowhere on their website or booking dot com is mentioned that children are not allowed. Very bad example of hospitality.

We regret to read about your disappointment in our services.
Unfortunately, in your reservation request and in the emails that followed you did not mention that you would be staying with your son. If we had known, we would have offered you our room Le Châtelain which is perfectly suited for families with children, and this without any extra charges for your 1 year old son.
Families are most welcome to stay with us and hundreds of children have stayed with us over the past few years. However, some of our rooms have period furniture and antique objects and because of unfortunate experiences and subsequent damages in the past, we do not let out these rooms to families with younger children. This information is provided by us when we receive reservation requests by families.
The maximum number of persons for each room is mentioned both on our own website and on third party websites. The number of children allowed in each room is also mentioned on online reservation platforms such as Booking.
We truly regret any misunderstanding and apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you.
