My wife was unwell and unable to go to Breakfast. I asked for en passe emporter (which I believe is a takeaway cup) they said yes and then walked away ?
I also asked for late checkout and was told £20 per hour, quite inflexible I feel !!!! We now go to stay in chambery Mercure I hope the service is more like I expect from Mercure or we may not stay in one again!
Breakfast was quite good on the upside for me!

Due to an extraordinary power outage, which the hotel of course could not be blamed for, our stay ended up being rather curtailed and unusual. The staff handled the crisis situation reasonably well, but it also became clear that this large hotel is in need of some refurbishing. A tired air‑conditioning system, worn bathrooms, and emergency lighting that switches off after ten hours do not make up for the fairly spacious rooms and good location.

No AC for 2 days and 2 nights.
One day no electricity. Not possible to charge phone.
35 degrees inside the bedroom.

One can find a better hotel that is better located and has more charm.

The hotel is a 4-star Mercure; in fact, I would say it is a very good 3-star. It is located in a beautiful neighborhood, 20 minutes from the Part Dieu train station, 15 minutes from the first peninsula, and 20 minutes to reach old Lyon on foot.
Very close to the market halls,
It is especially interesting for seminars but not much for families; the pool is very small, as is the fitness room.
I was upgraded to a privilege room, spacious with a large bed, good bedding, a desk that is sufficiently large, all quite pleasant. The only negative point is that the chairs are covered in faux leather and are not very pleasant, as well as the very small bathroom that is to be used individually. The room is very good in terms of size, quality, and services offered.
Robes, slippers, and products are provided. You also have a small fridge and complimentary non-alcoholic drinks with a coffee machine and kettle, excellent services.
Room well soundproofed, located on the street side with no noise.
The reception and bar staff are very welcoming, professional, and friendly.
I used the bar and was very well served with comfortable chairs.
Regarding dining, it is very average in terms of the dishes offered, and the service is very mediocre with unprofessional staff.
It should be noted that the hotel has two elevators serving 5 floors. In the morning before 9 AM and in the evening between 6 and 7 PM, there is a lot of waiting due to high traffic.
I did not have breakfast on-site; I preferred to eat outside given the experience with the meals.
You can find better options closer to Old Lyon, with the same service and price.

Reasonable location

The rooms are a decent size. The hotel is a little dated & run down. The pool & shower area are very dirty. I had to clean the shower floor before taking a shower. The towel was very brown. It looked like that floor has not been washed in a year. The shower was missing shampoo on the broken holder. So I had to go and take it from the handicap bathroom. The soap dispenser was broken off of the wall by the sink. The pool had dead bugs all around the wall. The water temperature was about 83°. The elevator was filthy. The breakfast was average. The cook did not know how to make omlets. She didn't cook the vegetables before putting in the eggs on the grill, so they were raw. They didn't clean the room, so I had to call for service. The location is 26 minutes from the Old Town. The staff was very nice. All in all the hotel was very disspointing for what they charge.
