Poor service

The infrastructure has come of age and the room and bathroom are very small. Also the cleanliness leaves much to be desired.
The car must be parked in the parking garage next door. After the instructions for payment in the parking garage were insufficient, the staff refused to refund the amount (with the following excuse: "only the manager had the key to the safe and he was absent at the weekend"). This is not a service.

Clean, comfortable overnight stay for weary rail travellers.

Went for one of the cheaper double rooms as it was an overnight stay only. Very compact but entirely adequate; very clean, comfortable bed, quiet restful night, well appointed clean ensuite (with a small bath not just shower; lovely). Breakfast is worth paying for as filled us up with no hassle before our bus journey; very tasty pastries, eggs, crispy bacon in a nice room. If I was staying longer than two nights I'd probably pay more for a larger room but not. a deal breaker and it may be the smaller rooms are higher up (lift works) so quieter. Hotel is not bland but has some charm too. Convenient for bus and railway stations as entirely walkable with heavy luggage but very easy to do a couple of hours walking around Grenoble before our bus which was around check-out time so we breakfasted early, packed, left our bags in the the room, went off and explored and came back then wheeled to bus station. Found excellent restaurant very nearby too for the evening before (Le Gratin Dauphinois) when we were too tired to walk far.

Old tired building & rooms.
Advertised with parking but it costs extra and there are only 6 spaces and they are extremely small tight spaces and access and very dangerous to get a normal size car in and out of.
Staff were very nice, friendly and helpful.

This small and friendly hotel changes from the large standardised hotel chains

Personalized night reception, small but warm room, bedding and sheets of excellent quality, bathroom and toilet irreproachable, quiet night so restorative, breakfast taken at 9.30 am so much more, but what remained was very good. Only one night in this small hotel very warm, but it changes standardized hotel chains, I will definitely go back if I go through Grenoble.
