Beautiful room, gorgeous hotel

We stayed for one night in this gorgeous hotel. Our room was extremely stylish with amazing attention to detail and the whole hotel was decorated tastefully. We were made to feel very welcome. The location was lovely, with a view across the river. A good location to visit nearby Beaulieu sur Dordogne. Recommended.

Big disappointment

Old and deserted hotel. No direct window to the bedroom. No one to welcome you. Worn carpet, stained ceilings. Small bedding
The photos do not reflect the reality of this establishment.
Feeling insecure. This hotel may have been good once but today it is a place without soul and leaves to abandon

not very honest sadly

We didn't stay here. But went for a drink while on walk. Person serving was very charming and we ordered two coke zeros. I went to pay, and he rang up 1cent on the till, having switched off the till printer. Then said the two cokes were €7. At lot for a small cafe. I raised an eyebrow. But he insisted. No menu was available to check...and we were in a hurry. So I paid. He then gave me change from his pocket. So he was fiddling me... and probably the business or the taxman. Not a very nice experience. Why do people do that?

A pleasant evening

We were booked at the Hostellerie Belle Rive by Sherpa Expeditions while on a walking tour of Dordogne. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and informed of the dinner hour. Room 11 is comfortable and has a beautiful view of the river. We walked around the village and came back to sit on the patio where there is room for at least 60-70 people. After awhile, hoping for a glass of wine, we realized that we were the only guests in the hotel! The hotel next door was completely shut down, and there are few other businesses in the village. The gentleman who had greeted us drove off soon after we sat down, leaving the main hotel locked up (no wine for us). Around 6:30 pm, we were relieved to see 2 or 3 people show up with provisions. The chef was a beautiful, friendly old woman who clearly enjoyed cooking for appreciative guests, and our waitress was also very nice as well as extremely patient with our attempt at pigeon-French. Dinner was excellent, breakfast was generous, and we were very comfortable. Wifi was available, not password-protected.

A very pleasant evening

Ate here early Feb as most places were closed in my more local town of Beaulieu. Very pleased that we did as the experience was most pleasant. The choice was not vast but we all found something that appealed ....Will be returning on my next trip .
