A lovely discovery

We spent one night at La Roseraie during our visit to Chenonceaux.
Ideally located, spacious and very clean room, very pleasant welcome.
The breakfast buffet is varied and has quality products.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Our room was large with everything you needed. The only negative was that the bed was very hard making it difficult to sleep. Other than that, the pool was large and well maintained, the restaurant was lovely as was the foods, and the stall were extremely helpful.

Just a stone's throw from the castle

Right next to the Chenonceaux castle, this hotel is an old palace from the 1800s.
Booked at the last moment, our room was very large (even family-sized).
Excellent cleanliness and breakfast.
Friendly staff.
We appreciated the air conditioning (given the 36-37 degrees) and the private, free parking.

Disappointing.

After a wonderful visit to Chenonceaux Castle, we looked forward to our Superior Room (the picture in the booking email shows a large room with a stone floor, wooden beam ceiling, and beautiful furnishings). We were assigned a very plain room on the noisy street side with the explanation that no other room was available and that this room was on the preferred upper floor. According to the lady who showed us the room, it was the Charm category. The fact that we did not receive the booked category is already an impossibility in itself. But the next morning, we were also supposed to pay the full price for the Superior category. Only after a strong complaint were we granted a very small discount. The peak was that after our departure, we received a call from the reception claiming that our very plain room was, according to the manager, despite multiple confirmations from the reception, not Charm but actually Superior, and that we should not have received the discount. Very borderline. Too much trouble in an otherwise wonderful vacation in France with many great accommodations and friendly people. I would definitely avoid the Roseraie.

Perfect Retreat for Your Chenonceaux Tour!

You could not stay any closer to Chenonceaux Castle unless you were on the grounds, and just steps to the train station. Dinner was delicious, and I even found it tastier than the more pricey place across the street. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was large and comfortable. I wholeheartedly recommend it!
