Always love staying here. Quiet, peaceful and a quick walk to everything fun. Love the breakfast especially the Indian options they have,

Nice hotel, good service. Restaurant way overpriced and not good. Rooms were fine, hardly 4 star though. Small size too. Overall, good for SF. Not great, or special. Good location for Union Square

Lovely hotel in the heart of SFO

Stayed with my family at Taj Campton for 4 days in May 2026
The location of the hotel is perfect, right at union square..
We had a wonderful experience with a lot of personalised service from Gursharan at the front desk, Abhishek in the restaurant, head chef George Thomas and the GM Pulkesin Mohan
The whole Taj team makes sure that one feels at home.. away from home
The food at the Bombay Brasserie restaurant was very nice
Breakfast was excellent too
All our needs were taken care of ..
All this Tajness makes the group stand out amongst the competition

Fantastic stay in a perfect location!
What a wonderful hotel in a super convenient location! We were just one block from Union Square and all of its great shops. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. They were even able to accommodate an early check-in and a late check-out, which made our schedule for the event we were attending in SF so much easier.
The room itself was large, clean, and packed with thoughtful amenities—everything from complimentary bottled water to extra toothbrushes in the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable with full, plush pillows, and we didn't hear a peep from the adjoining rooms or the street.
Parking is located just around the corner and is reasonably priced for the city. We also loved the on-site restaurant, which served delicious food and excellent cocktails. All in all, I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Taj hospitality does not match as claimed

Very disappointed with my experience at Taj Campton Place. For a luxury Taj property, the guest service expectations were not met.
* The kitchen closes around 9:30 PM, so getting dinner after that is practically impossible.
* On Sunday and Monday, their signature Indian restaurant remains closed, which was especially disappointing for guests expecting Indian food from a Taj hotel.
* Even for small in-room requests, the hotel charges around $10 delivery/service fees, which feels excessive.
The location is good, but the overall hospitality and food availability were not what I expected from the Taj brand.

I would also like to gently clarify that while our signature Indian restaurant operates on select days, we do continue to offer a selection of Indian-inspired dishes through both our bar menu and in-room dining menu. These options are available to ensure our guests can still enjoy Indian flavors outside of the restaurant’s operating hours.
