Great location, lots of character.
Interesting place. Great location in the old town (more to be said shortly). Its a 10 minute walk from the train station, 10 minutes to the mall and conference centre. I was in the Edith Wharton suite which was comfortable and relaxing. Help yourself buffet breakfast at the weekend, but then on Monday it switched to a disappointing set up in the lobby, coffee jugs, packed cereal, packed muffins. I mean it worked, but it wasn't what I expected. Loads of USB ports thank god.
Bit of a moan about the gym. Come on folks, get the machine fixed.
It definitely has character. There is some kind of homeless day care centre across the road, so the locals can be a bit off putting, but I never felt threatened. Providence is really civilised, its a great place, and the Hotel enhanced the stay...its not formulaic and sterile like the chains. I got a good nights sleep. Hot water, it was comfortable. Would go back.

Room was older but spacious. Location was across from a shelter. Lots of individuals outside past 11pm. Didn’t feel particularly safe. Valet parking $45/night.

Great hotel but….
Our hotel room was quite comfortable and the air conditioning was superb. The bathroom was spacious and I thoroughly enjoyed being in our room. I appreciated how quiet the room was and enjoyed the view of the church from our room. Because I rely on TripAdvisor reviews, I wanted to clarify the situation with the unhoused people that congregate just outside the hotel. We found ourselves needing to walk down the center of the road because people were camped out on the sidewalks. At breakfast I watched as individuals would enter the adjacent park and attempt to navigate while being quite high on something. Also, skip the gym. The equipment is rusty and in bad shape.

This was a great hotel, conveniently located in Downtown Providence, walking distance from countless dining and shopping options. The hotel was nice and clean, with beautiful views of city architecture. I recommend using their valet service, which is the same price as parking in nearby lots and garages. There is some sort of soup kitchen or homeless resource center across the street, so that sidewalk is always blocked by homeless individuals at all times. That said, people seem to transit the area normally and safely.

Room was not clean, we left the room at 7:30 AM the next morning and room was not serviced on our return at 8:00 PM that night. Claimed we left a no disturb sign on our door which was not true.
