Excellent Stay and Outstanding Staff
I’ll start by saying that the next time I’m in Phoenix, this is where I’ll be staying.
The hotel was quiet, clean, and very comfortable. There was complimentary bottled water available for guests, and every morning they offered a free buffet breakfast with eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, yogurt, scones, and make-your-own waffles. The dining area was spacious and pleasant, so it was a nice way to start the day.
The room was great, the beds were comfortable, and, as I mentioned earlier, it was wonderfully quiet. I slept very well every night.
The only thing I was surprised by was that there wasn’t a pool. With Phoenix temperatures reaching 105 degrees, I expected one. That said, it was so hot that I probably wouldn’t have used it anyway! They do have a nice workout room, which I used, and they also provide complimentary bottled water there.
Every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional, and helpful. I especially want to give a shout-out to Cody, one of the valet attendants. I was having a minor issue with my Uber driver, and before I even asked for help, Cody noticed what was happening and stepped in. He was a true gentleman, and it’s little acts of kindness like that that people remember when deciding where to stay on their next trip.
I had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back.

Being right at the corner of N 1st St and E Polk St, directly across from the ASU Downtown Phoenix Campus, lets us be that calm, quiet place to recharge while still sitting in the middle of the Downtown Phoenix Core. Many guests stay with us for events at the Phoenix Convention Center or games nearby, so we try hard to balance “downtown energy” with “sleep-friendly quiet,” and it is wonderful to hear that you slept so well every night.
Your note about the pool is completely understandable. In a city where it can reach 105 degrees, a pool is often something guests expect. Our building was designed with an emphasis on indoor comforts and fitness rather than an outdoor pool, which is why we focus on keeping the rooms cool, the fitness center well equipped, and chilled bottled water stocked both in the lobby and the workout room. It is funny you mentioned probably not using a pool in that heat anyway; many guests say the same after a day of exploring downtown or wandering toward the Roosevelt Row Arts District.

Great...except we didn't get housekeeping service and the shampoo pump bottle was empty.
I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact we didn't have any shampoo and our room wasn't serviced.
Our first morning in the shower, we discovered the shampoo pump bottle was empty, so we washed our hair with shower gel (I'm sure it's all the same stuff anyway!) and made a request at the front desk that housekeeping definitely refill/replace the bottle.
Well...after returning to our hotel room around 5:30pm, we discovered our room hadn't been serviced AT ALL. The bed wasn't made, trash wasn't emptied, towels not replaced, make-up wipes not replaced and...still no shampoo. We called the front desk and they delivered a new bottle of shampoo and fresh towels right away.
OK, so we thought maybe they were still doing the 'Covid' housekeeping schedule, so upon checkout we asked if there was a reason our room wasn't serviced. They said it should have been serviced, apologized and said they'd bring it up with housekeeping. Not really the response we were hoping for!
Here are our PROS and CONS for the hotel:
PROS:
-Convenient downtown location. We took the light rail from the airport and walked to the hotel.
-Clean and modern.
-Friendly staff.
-Quiet. (We chose the top floor purposefully). Some minor road noise, but we took ear plugs.
-Room equipped with all the necessities such as a mini-fridge, coffee maker, nightlight, iron.
-Coffee carafes in the lobby.
CONS:
-We didn't get housekeeping service or have shampoo.
-Breakfast could be improved with a few healthier options like plain yogurt and grainy toast.
-Breakfast serving area gets jammed up on the side of the waffle maker. It would be better if they could utilize the bar in the breakfast seating area to spread out some of the food.
-I'm not a big fan of the bathroom 'barn door'.

Looking forward to my next stay with Hampton Inn hotels. Very professional and helpful staff. Clean comfortable rooms are welcoming after traveling all day.

The BEST staff. I had an issue with my booking for my stay, and it was the fault of a 3rd party I booked with but the staff at this hotel went the full mile to help me. I can not tell you have much we appreciated that. It was an excellent stay in every way

I stayed here for one night with my son, and from the moment we pulled up to valet to the moment we pulled away the next morning, everything was perfect. Every single staff member we encountered was kind and respectful. Our room was clean, quiet, and just what we needed for one night. Pricing was fair for the room and for parking our rental car. We also thoroughly enjoyed breakfast the next morning and were grateful to not have to spend a fortune at the airport. I would fully recommend staying here and would do so again.
