This stay was an excellent experience. The staff were amazing and so helpful. The rooms were clean, well cared for and safe. The hotel restaurant was amazing and so good. I recommend this hotel to all. AMAZING experience.

We were disappointed with a few things. The pool was FREEZING, they were out of coffee in the lobby by ten, and there were fruit flies everywhere. We had to have them come repair our bathroom door as it wouldn’t close. And we had to ask for a mini fridge as you don’t automatically get one. Most staff was amazing, one manager was a bit rude. Loved the included shampoo/soap in the rooms. One nice touch in the lobby was ice cold water with fruit or cucumber in it. Very refreshing.

They were at full capacity so the front desk seemed a little stressed out but I got upgraded to club and had free breakfast which was good. The room was nice.

If you need a fridge, look elsewhere...

We booked our stay the night before we were to go to a funeral in the area. We arrived to the hotel around 5:30 and went to the desk to check in. Two employees were at the desk, one was working hard the other was hardly working. We approached the desk and were told by one of the employees they couldn't help us for another 30 minutes. We decided to go to dinner. When we returned, the employee who was busy when we arrived earlier was at the desk; she was so pleasant, polite and super happy to assist us.
The room was nice, no fridge but it was nice. Clean. We had access to the lounge which was super small. Breakfast in the morning was okay.

Poor Management

The Sheraton Hotel Northbrook, part of the Marriott family of hotels, has lots of potential. The problem is their complete lack of attention to details. The hotel was fairly clean, had a nice bar and small restaurant and the club level did a good job with breakfasts. However, upon arriving in our room we went to freshen up and found a used bar of soap sitting in the shower - yuck! The next day when we arrived in our room after being out all day, the room had been cleaned but they left us only 1 towel. Just 1, no washcloth, hand towel nothing; just one bath towel. The next day we came back to the hotel around 3 to relax before a dinner engagement and they were cleaning the carpet outside our room (and then the entire hallway). The chemical smell was beyond obnoxious. Tried to change rooms but none were available. Awful! Next day (our last night) we came back to the hotel after dinner and the room hadn’t been cleaned (after we had specifically asked the front desk to have the room cleaned). As I said, the hotel has potential, it’s in a pretty good location but clearly management is not paying attention.

While we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our bar, restaurant, Club Level breakfast, and convenient location, it is clear that we fell far short of the standards you rightfully expect from a Sheraton hotel. Finding a used bar of soap in your shower upon arrival is completely unacceptable, and we understand how disappointing and concerning that must have been. We are equally sorry for the housekeeping oversights that followed, including the insufficient towels provided after room service and the failure to service your room despite your request through the front desk.
We also regret the inconvenience caused by the carpet cleaning outside your room and the strong chemical odor that affected your ability to relax. We understand your frustration, especially when an alternative room was not available.
Your comments have been shared with our housekeeping and leadership teams for immediate review and corrective action. Attention to detail and consistent guest service are fundamental expectations, and we clearly missed the mark during your stay.
We appreciate your recognition of the hotel's potential and are disappointed that our execution did not reflect it.
