Perfect off the grid getaway. Lovely cabin style accommodations with bikes and pickle ball to use included and nightly fire pits that set the scene for a fun fall trip. Hot tub spa delightful.
Only wishes were for a fire poker at the fire pit given self loaded after they initially light it (although amazing amount of unlimited dry cut firewood to use) and toilet on first floor of the two story cabin (as you had to walk upstairs and through the bedroom) given sofa bed on first floor

We were in Black bear building. Carpets were dirty. Everything had a funky smell. I reached behind the headboard to get to an outlet and there was a ton of dust back there. I think since this building has family sized rooms they assume you don’t need a pristine level of cleanliness. But we were 3 adults with no kids. We wish it were much cleaner. I would never stay in that building again.

Somewhat disappointing

This is my third time at the spa and I was not as satisfied this time as the last two times I was there! We arrived on a Sunday and left on Tuesday! The room was clean (but no daily maid service , which was disappointing). I did get the toilet paper right away when I asked the front desk! We ate one dinner and two breakfasts at the Catamount Restaurant! The food was delicious and the service good! The bathrooms could have been cleaner however! I had been told by the reservation desk that the restaurant was not open all the time during our stay so they sent me a list of local restaurants which were good! Our spa experience was disappointing! We had booked, weeks in advance, two massages and two pedicures. The day of the appointment I received a phone call very early in the morning telling me that the nail technician had called in sick and that there was no one else to do the pedicures so they had to cancel them! This was very disappointing as the whole reason why we went was to get spa treatments! When I inquired about doing them the next day I was told no because they only had one technician again! I’m wondering why a spa that comes highly recommended does not have more then one nail technician working, especially since it was almost impossible to get any appointments over a month in advance and people usually take long weekends to get spa treatments so I would think they would have two technicians or least someone on stand by in case on a Monday! We did have our massages which were wonderful and the spa was clean ! The front desk people seemed a little harried (probably because they were busy bringing towels and toilet paper to the guests because there was no daily house keeping service) and I wish that they had told me when I checked in that the shops were closed on Tuesday! Yes on the website it says shops open Wednesday through Monday but that is not written anywhere on the paper work I was handed about the resort at check in and we missed our opportunity to see the Worlds Largest Kaleidoscope, and go shopping , something we were both looking forward to! While the pool
was clean , it’s needs to be updated and the towels given to us to use were not of high quality! The resort is beautiful but the front walk way definitely needs to be painted! We enjoyed ourselves but I was definitely disappointed in the above mentioned items! Hopefully some improvements can be made as staying at this spa is not inexpensive! Thank you!

Relaxing respite surrounded by the beauty of nature

My husband and I spent two very relaxing nights here this week.
Check-in was smooth and Jackie at the front desk was able rectify a minor inconvenience with our room. She was awesome.
We arrived on a Monday and we were able to take full advantage of the resort’s amenities, including seeing the kaleidoscope (kind of cool), using the hot tub and eating at the restaurant (food and drinks were great!)
Tuesday was a bit different as much of these spots are closed, which we knew going into it. We hiked nearby Mount Tremper in the morning (not for the novice hiker FYI), and then relaxed by the pool, played cornhole and traveled to Brio in Phonecia for dinner. It was a very cool vibe.
This resort is super dog-friendly. I’m not sure if my teenage sons would enjoy the resort’s amenities, but there’s a nice playground for the younger kids. The creek runs through the resort, but I wish it was a bit more accessible.
Our room was spacious, very comfortable and the shower was amazing!
Overall a great trip for two busy parents looking to decompress and enjoy nature. Would definitely recommend.

The Emerson is a great resort/spa. Our room was just beautiful, clean , and comfortable. However, you will need to plan your stay well before you arrive since spa treatments book up quickly. My stay was spur of the moment so there was no availability, not even for a pedicure. Also be advised that there is no cell service (didn’t matter to me) but there is WiFi. I was aware that the restaurant was closed on the days of my stay so I can’t comment on the food. Even though this is a nice place, I don’t think I’ll be staying here again.
