Room was beautifully decorated and more than enough space for our family. The shower we had was extremely small though, so just a word of caution for us bigger-boned folk! I made it work but it wasn't easy. Breakfast is at the restaurant and was good. Pool is great, private beach is great. We lived all the wildlife around! We definitely recommend.

Decent, but wouldn't stay again.

Pros: nice view. Friendly staff. Great restaurant/bar. Great beach town look, pastels and beach decor. Hammocks, beach chairs, bistro set for each room,
Cons: Very small rooms. Bathroom so small you can't turn around. Cleaned up 2 ant piles from inside the room. Went to the "24 hour" front desk for any spray. Lobby was locked. Not unusual. Twice we've seen people trying to check in after 5 and the lobby was locked. Limited electric plugs for charging phones.

As one of Key West's original resorts, dating back to 1956, our rooms reflect the character and history of the island, which can mean some spaces are more compact than those found in newer properties.
Regarding the ants, South Florida's tropical climate and seasonal termite swarms can occasionally attract insects, and we encourage guests to contact us right away so our team can address any concerns immediately.
Our lobby is open until 11:00 PM each evening. If the doors are locked before then, it is typically because our front desk team is assisting guests elsewhere on the property and will return shortly. We appreciate your comments regarding room outlets we have alarm clocks in the room with USB charging stations for that reason, in 1956 they didn't have as many devices!

This place was an absolute disaster. The room reeked of smoke, like whole cartons of Marlboros, and their best idea was to spray some Lysol into the vent. So all our stuff immediately smelled like smoke. There’s no way in this earth they didn’t notice the odor. The beach smells like rotten eggs, that’s ’because of the seaweed.’ Weird, nothing else smells so bad. I could go on, but …
The room was so awful we couldn’t stay there and we un-checked in, asked for a refund, and left. They said take it up with hotels.com, who said take it up with the property. They didn’t want to give up the ‘guaranteed booking’ money, no doubt because the room was unrentable. And we’ll be getting a refund whether they like it or not.
Our standards for Key West are pretty low. It’s Key West, we know the drill. This place didn’t come within a nautical mile of a low standard.
Wound up driving back to key largo in the middle of the night after this place did its best to ruin our stay. I hope they fall into the ocean. Karma.
Tl;dr: this place has pretty pictures. Don’t be fooled. It’s garbage.

Great value for the money

For what is essentially a motel with cute motif I was surprised ant how much I enjoyed our stay. It’s an easy place to feel relaxed. Front desk clerk could have been friendlier but the rest of the staff were very nice and worked hard. We had a low end room not overlooking the little beach. It was very small and older but clean and cheerful with a fridge. The restaurant is nice and breakfast is included. I enjoyed taking advantage of the outdoor restaurant seating to sit outside and have breakfast on the water. Kids would enjoy the parrot and tortoises they have on site, and the daily shark feedings.

AC is loud. Annoying to sleep with but cannot sleep to have it off. I won’t stay here again. Plus there is extra fee ( resort fee). I was not informed beforehand of it.
