Really cool hotel

Great hotel. We loved the quirks due to the old age and the coziness of the lobby. That elevator was very cool. The restaurant has amazing food. Water pressure in shower was a bit lacking, but we made due. Especially after we learned the hot and cold pipes were reversed. A sign near shower may be helpful. But the toilet situation was the Pitts! Honestly who can use a toilet less than 3 inches from the wall?

Great History

This is a beautiful piece of history along with a working hotel, gift shop, and restaurant. Its fun to go by all the doors and see who stayed in which room. It is a can't miss on 66.

Sorry but "No thank you".

This is extremely hard for me as it is against my nature to give negative reviews but I really believe in the idea that people should be treated as you would want to be treated. I have always wanted to stay in the beautiful, historic El Rancho Hotel so I willingly paid $194.76. It was the anniversary of our first date 43 years ago. (The date was a lot better than the anniversary room! Just saying.) I really didn't mind the small room or the lack of a frig but when we weren't able to change the room temperature, that became a problem. My husband has heart issues and takes blood thinners which causes him to quickly get "chilled to the bone". No matter what I did to the thermostat, the room stayed at 69°, which is like 39° would be for me. When I called the office for assistance, in the middle of me explaining the situation, the desk clerk said, "It's summer, we don't have heat!" We should have left then but were tired and thought the heavy cover on the bed would keep my husband warm enough. NO! (No dresser in the room with extra blankets.) In the morning, after very little sleep, as he kept waking up from being cold, his hands were icy cold and he shivered with the cold as we prepared to leave. When we opened the door into the hall, we were greeted with warm air! Another couple, who were walking by, said their room was cold, too. My husband was ill the next day and took forever to "thaw". His legs are still hurting a day later. Once will be more than enough for us!!

A nice and interesting place to stay. The inside has lots of history and charm. Rooms can be small but have been nicely remodeled. The property is filled with memorabilia from old western movies, area history and original Indian art painted in the hallways. Has a good bar, a restaurant and gift shops.

Great place. Unique and fun. Not like ant other. Staff is the best. They care. Great value for the type of hotel. Love the history. Definitely will stay again.
