Celebrating at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Durango, Colorado
Staff was so customer focused, caring, empathetic! We were named the Hampton Inn's Favorite Married Couple! Bridgette & Kelly took great care of us, ensuring all was well, making recommendations, and checking in with us.
One note: Bridgette was very helpful. I called ahead of time, to get some understanding of the general area, how to get transported to & from the airport, and other things. She was tremendous in answering our questions & amazingly answered the phone! Usually, getting a live person takes awhile or one is placed on hold forever. That was not our experience here. We are very grateful for her care and compassion. And, we saw she was that way for everyone! Really appreciated her.
Also, super breakfast staff. They were always on top of keeping the food available, hot, & plentiful.
All in all, everyone at the Hampton were very friendly, helpful, & caring. Location is perfect...near the train depot and in walking distance to the town.Highly recommend staying at the new Hampton Inn & Suites Durango!

The good and the bad
The only problem is that the cost was very high once taxes & fees (parking) were added on. Prior to check in cost was around $200 a night for standard but after checkout $300 (night)! My thinking (next time) would be to stay outside of downtown.
For the price I paid a night there was a view of the hotel balcony next door and the irritating thing was hearing entry door(s) slam very loudly (all day/night) at nearby rooms. We tried our best to close our door slowly so not to disturb others.
Note: from what I could determine it wasn't really the guests fault. The door has old style (slam) close that most hotels went away from but for some reason this Hilton gave it a go.
