Hospitality and Beauty

We had a panic moment when unpacking our tent - no poles! We went on Booking.com to see what we could do, and ended up calling the owner to see what else was available. He couldn't have been kinder, came right away, and went and got a tipi for the kids to sleep in. We had the tenting part of the camp to ourselves, and it was a gorgeous spot - right by the river. We didn't have trouble with bugs, the place was spotlessly clean, and Joe Allen was our hero!

Fun campout

A group from a Colorado school used this place as base to explore the big attractions in the black hills. Camping was easy, bug free, and the food that they served was flavorful and filling to hungry teenagers. Warm creek water made for fun. Camp stories around the camp fire were fun. Pricing was very reasonable but our group had reservations. Staff was calm, helpful and even helped one family reach a teen on the campout who's phone had got turned off. Just good folk. I would recommend you plan in advance but worth the effort. It is just off the road but didn't notice the road noise, we were all pretty tired.
