The Flagship Inn was surprisingly great. The room was clean and had a sweet retro fridge and microwave. The staff was just lovely and responded immediately to a request for more towels. Kids loved the pool and the free breakfast was good. Especially for the kids. It was very convenient to the botanical gardens and downtown Boothbay.

Find a better place to stay

Negatives:
Windows were dirty - you couldn't even see out of one of them, the floors were dirty and sandy - you needed shoes the whole time. The sink didn't have a stopper, the fan in the bathroom sounded like an alarm, the tub looked so dingy we didn't even use it. There were no towels at the pool, you needed to bring them. Only we weren't ever told that and there was no where that listed any information (about anything - breakfast, ice, etc.) so we had to walk wet back from the pool. Oh, and there was just a thin blanket on the beds - no extra anywhere.
Positives:
The refrigerator and microwave were cute and clean. The pool was clean. The hot tub was hot. There's a fun light with a remote that you can change from warm to cool white.

The pool is very small, the only ice is in the middle of the bottom floor and the only exit from the top is the ends of the building, the restaurant is only open for a few hours at breakfast and make sure you have your own account passwords for the tv.
Was very disappointed about the restaurant and lounge being closed

The Flagship is definitely going to be on our next stay list. The pool was amazing especially for our very hot stay, not the usual Maine weather but the whole country was being hit. At least in Maine you could come outside without bursting into flames like the rest of the surrounding states. Staff was extremely helpful. It was nice to have the option of the continental breakfast, considering most of the other Inns don’t offer it anymore, especially for a family stay. Parking was perfect you pulled right up to your room to unload and park. The hotel room itself was clean but a little outdated.

4th of July weekend

This place was still available over July 4th weekend. We had stayed here before. It has a pool which is a major plus and free breakfast. I thought bed was comfy but I wish they had had extra blankets in case someone wanted to use one. We kept AC high because it was wicked hot. HEATWAVE!!!!! We used the pool two or 3 times. Free breakfast was a definite plus too. Great breakfast choices. Room was clean and had plenty of room. We will go back there.
