Cozy
The Hostal Arenal has a very good location - less then 2 minutes to the tram stop and there are a lot of places to eat and drink, clothes shops and also the supermarket in the corner.
The rooms are so comfortable, everything is so tidy. Moreover, you will get more than one towel and the stuff for the bathroom (not every hostel provides with these things, which is very important) and also you will have your towels changed every day and you will have your room cleaned as well.
The family, who runs the hostel is so polite, kindly and friendly, by the way, they speak a lot of languages.
All the people to whom I've already recommended this hostel are satisfied with all the conditions.

Bad Guest service
I was with my young daughter I was attended by 1 man who should not work in hospitality but has ill-mannered/rude patience did not let me pass despite having paid x advance that day also did not want to return the money there was no one to talk to until he decided to return what he had canceled of course I no longer wanted to stay there choose better his staff.

THEY CANCELLED OUR BOOKING BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO. We had a reservation made for a long time, and they have canceled it, because according to them there was no money in the card was modified the card even though there was money for the reservation. We've still been written off.
I called on the phone and a very rude girl and in bad ways told me that they had called me on the phone and that they had contacted someone, who was not me and they have cancelled my reservation. To this day, no one from this Hostel called me, and they did not admit the mistake.

The worst experience of my life
Two weeks ago I booked room with them had free cancellation until the 11th at 11.59 pm with so bad luck that they admit me to the hospital on the 12th afternoon, I called to see if they gave me any kind of solution and the answer of the director was that there were two other guests traveling with me a two-year-old girl and my husband who had to stay with me in the hospital.
They didn't give me any solution or give me the money back. They're scoundrels.

Budget friendly private room
I was very content with my stay and I would recommend to anyone looking for place to stay. I stayed in 1 person accommodation.
+Very affordable, I had practically standard hotel room at a price of hostel stay. Two person bed and private bathroom and even cleaning every morning was included.
+Tram station near and surrounded by cafeterias and stores
+air conditioning in the room
-none of the staff spoke english, so spanish is a must
-not the most soundproof door, but the hostel was very calm and other guests quiet so it was not a problem
