Very reasonable value, perfect location

I stayed here just the one night and travelling solo, also something a little cheaper for my 2020 budget! The welcome was very friendly and the woman on the desk helped me show where the key places locally were, but also where I might like to go beyond the historical centre (La Isla, the aqueduct, other parks etc).
The room was clean, comfortable and just the right size for a solo a traveller. The bathroom and shower were fine perfect too.
The location is a mere 5 minutes from the plaza mayor and a lot of the other eateries and historic sights in the centre.
Perfect for one night, I'd recommend it.

Just because it's a low price doesn't mean unhealthy

Lousy, full of cockroaches and ants.
We stayed one day, and we already saw in the closets cockroach traps, I thought they were for prevention, but no ... there were, I don't know if they were cockroaches or dinosaurs anymore.
I have video.
Apart from commenting that there was a lot of mold in the bathrooms...
The reception woman played the fool as if there had never been cockroaches there, even having the traps... some scoundrels, we lasted that night and on top of that they had the indecency to charge it, or they reduced anything , I should have left without paying... a health inspection came to their hair.

Good value for money

It is located in the old part of Plasencia, very close to the Plaza Mayor. The rooms are not very big, but they have been renewed not long ago. Very helpful staff, always trying to make your stay pleasant.

Old Charm Outside - Modern Inside

This is a charming locations in the old city of Plasencia and a short walk to Plaza Mayor. I was on the top floor and accepted the last room available which meant a bathroom in the hall (outside of the room). No complaints - the price was good, the room was clean and modern, no window but a skylight and the bathroom was clean and modernized. Note: breakfast in the morning is not worth waiting for.

Good value hostal

The Hostal Muralla is located in the heart of the old walled town of Plasencia, down a quiet street no more than 2 or 3 minutes walk from the Plaza Mayor. Thus, it is very conveniently situated for anything you may wish to do in this charming city, yet being away from anywhere too noisy.
The rooms, although on the small side, were perfectly clean, nicely decorated, fully equipped (eg complementary toiletries, effective heating etc) and very comfortable. The staff too were incredibly friendly and helpful, pointing out all the sites worthy of visiting in Plasencia, and willingly holding our baggage after we had checked out.
My one complaint was the breakfast; although relatively cheap (€2 for toast and either tea, coffee or chocolate), I definitely wished I had chosen to eat in one of the cafes on the Plaza, and would recommend any other travellers to do the same.
This aside, however, Hostal Muralla is a more than accepatble option for budget travellers, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
