Lack of cleanliness in its purest form.

My experience was terrible, dirty sheets, no outlets, little light, damage in the room, non-existent bathroom set (an open bottle of used body wash) and air conditioning without maintenance, we had to clean the dirty filters ourselves. Filth in its purest form. We bought sheets, towels, body wash…..I do not recommend it at all.

Terrible

Lack of cleanliness, no outlets, broken windows and sheets with yellow stains. We went to a Chinese bazaar and bought sheets, towels and body wash, since the one that was in the bathroom was a liter size and was half empty and used. So... If you have a reservation, bring sheets, towels and items for personal hygiene. Ahhh open the air conditioning and clean the filter because since the hostel opened I think it has not had maintenance

Reportable... almost 100 euros a night with dampness on the ceiling and a partition in the middle of a window... dragged curtains...

They should close it... it does not meet the minimum sanitary conditions... dampness... discomfort... dirt... remnants of paint on the partition and floor, and not cheap for the conditions they offer.
The location is unbeatable, but I would not stay there again, even if it were free.

I suppose the kindest thing to say is that The Monkey Room is a "work in progress". The hotel/hostal is right in the centre of Marbella Old Town and although it sets out in adverts to be "chic" and "cool" it has a long way to go. While I was there a workman was on site preparing another cubby hole as a bedroom and I think my room was only half-finished. The nights were cold and only a single sheet covered the bed and, after moving my room to the one in the photo (instead of on the roof) I found the aircon not up to heating the room and a washbasin without any hot water plumbed in. It rained for part of the time and it was almost impossible to get my clothes dry. The photos make it look good but "buyer beware".

Hostel sucks, que asco!!!!!!!!

I booked a room at Monkey Room Marbella for September 2nd, but it was a bad experience from start to finish.
Upon my arrival I found stained towels and sheets, hair in a bathroom drawer, a Pringles chip and a rusty crutch under the bed: obvious signs that the room had not been cleaned in the least.
When I pointed out the towel stains to the reception lady, I was told that they were clean and that “it was normal for stains not to go away” because it was the washing machine’s fault. An unacceptable justification.
After seeing the dirt under the bed I decided I would never stay there and asked for a refund. The lady, via POS, made me a receipt and assured me that within 24-48 hours the money would return to my account. Today, September 19, I have not received anything yet.
Moreover, the photos that show the rooms do not reflect reality at all.
In summary: non-existent cleaning, poor Service and unprofessional reception staff. I highly recommend this hostel.

Reservé una habitación en el Monkey Room Marbella para el 2 de septiembre y fue una experiencia pésima desde el principio.
Al llegar encontré toallas y sábanas manchadas, pelos en un cajón del baño, a potato Pringles y una percha oxidada debajo de la cama: señales claras de que la habitación no había sido limpiada.
When comenté las manchas de las toallas a la señora de la recepción, me respondió que estaban limpias y que “era normal que las manchas no se fueran” porque era culpa de la lavadora. A totally unacceptable justification.
Después de ver la suciedad bajo la cama decidí que no me qedía allí y pedí el reembolso. La señora, a través del TPV, me hizo un recibo y me asegurò que en 24-48 horas el dinero estaría en mi cuenta. Hoy, 19 de septiembre, todavía no he recibido nada.
Ademas de esto la fotos que suben online no reflejan la realidad de las habitaciones.
En resumen: limpieza inexistente, servicio pésimo y personal de recepción nada profesional. No recomiendo este hostal en absoluto
