Really great hotel,easy access to the metro, rooms were a good size. Pool wasn’t heated but we still enjoyed it! Breakfast was much better than expected (ignore the bad reviews!) not sure what more you could want. Fresh bread, meats, cheese, hot options, salmon, cereals, fruits, yoghurts, pastries and fresh juices. Staff were absolutely lovely especially the lady who checked us in late at night. Gave lots of local tips on places to see. Only downside was on a hot day there really wasn’t enough sun loungers to go around and the bath tub was a small size (but the shower was amazingly powerful!) big shout out to Ronnie the barman too who made some delicious cocktails and was super nice!

Honest experience!
My Wife and I stayed at the Sercotel Alcalá 611 for a long weekend in Madrid, and overall, we genuinely couldn’t fault the hotel, the location or the service. This is an honest review based on our experience.
Hotel & Location
The hotel was clean, comfortable and offered really easy access to central Madrid. The metro station was only around a 3–4 minute walk from the hotel, which made getting around incredibly straightforward.
We purchased a 10-journey travel card for around £9, which was excellent value. The hotel is close to Metro Line 5 (the green line), which takes you directly towards many of Madrid’s main tourist areas. You can top the card up whenever needed, and the whole system was really easy to use.
One particularly useful thing we discovered was that the same travel card can be used by multiple people. You simply swipe in and out each time you enter or leave the metro station. Once you get the hang of the system, travelling around Madrid is very easy. Most attractions are also only a short walk from the relevant metro stops.
Breakfast & Food
The breakfast was exactly what we expected for the price we paid. There was a decent selection and something to suit everyone.
I do find it difficult to understand people who complain endlessly about food choices when travelling. You’re staying away from home, in another country, and paying a reasonable price — there will always be something someone can find to complain about!
The hotel’s food and drinks were also reasonably priced for a hotel, especially considering you’re staying in the capital of Spain. We thought the prices were very fair.
Staff & Service
The staff were excellent throughout our stay.
We actually had an accident in the room where I accidentally dropped the iron onto the glass table, causing the glass to crack. The hotel dealt with the situation promptly and professionally. What really stood out was that their first concern was whether we were okay, rather than immediately worrying about charging us for the damage. That says a lot about the attitude of the staff.
Pool
The pool area was a great addition, particularly because temperatures reached around 37°C during our visit.
The pool itself was absolutely freezing — more like a cold plunge than a swimming pool! But when it’s that hot outside, it actually served its purpose perfectly and was a great way to cool down.
Getting Around Madrid
The metro was by far the easiest way for us to get around. It’s simple to use, inexpensive and gives you access to pretty much all of the main areas you’ll want to visit.
If you prefer taxis, Cabify, Bolt and Uber are all available through their respective apps, so there are plenty of options for getting around.
Overall
Overall, we couldn’t fault the Sercotel Alcalá 611. The hotel was clean, the staff were fantastic, the prices were reasonable and the location gave us easy access to central Madrid without paying the prices you’d expect for staying right in the centre.
For us, the combination of a good hotel, easy metro access and reasonable prices made it a great base for exploring Madrid. We’d happily stay here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere comfortable and well-connected without paying central Madrid prices.

Clean room every day staff were lovely very helpful breakfast a range of breakfast bar was always open in evening and pool was lovely as it was 48c on the one day and rooms were always cool gluten free bread ever day just let them know your sin gluten or any other food intolerance thank you again (Gracias)

We stayed at this hotel as part of a motorbike trip across Spain and stayed one night. Rooms were great, amenities wonderful, bar staff were helpful, breakfast was good with a variety of food options and the major benefit was the onsite pool area. We really enjoyed our stay here, so much so we delayed our departure time to make the most of the pool! Finally the overnight cost was reasonable and offered good value
