Do be fooled by the star rating

I stayed at this hotel on a 5 day trip to Madrid. The star rating was particularly low and the cost was at the lowest end of the ranges for Madrid hotels. DO NOT BE PUT OFF BY THIS.
This is an amazing hotel in the Chueca and Gran Via area of the city:
1. Spotlessly clean
2. Modern rooms
3. Central location
4. Very friendly staff
5. Safe location
6. Comfortable rooms
7. Tea and coffee making
8. Safe in the room
This is a top quality and excellent value for money Hotel.
TIPS:
Tube (Metro): From the airport take the tube with two changes to Chueca. Come out of the tube and turn right walking almost back on yourself and out of Chueca Plaza. The road for the hotel - C/ Barbieri is directly in front of you. Walk all the way to the end of the road (5 min walk) and the hotel is on the right. It is 1st the building.
Breakfast: I paid extra for breakfast which is serviced at a cafe on the ground floor of the building. To be honest it was a little over priced for what it was and there are many cafes serving breakfast (desayuno) for only €2 to €2.50 so there is lots of choice.
Gay travellers: This is in the heart of the Chueca district for the gay bars and shops (see listings for Chueca district on here) and close to the fashion outlets too.
Summary: Excellent hotel in. Excellent location with excellent staff and excellent access to sights and services. I highly recommend and would stay here again on my next visit to the city.

HORRENDOUS RECEPTIONIST!! INFERIOR DWELLING!!

Stayed from 10th to 12th January. Arrived early to leave my luggage and headed for the sales at Gran Via.
The receptionist suggested twice that I should pay by cash!!
A frequent traveller,
I have NEVER been dictated to how I should pay for my hotel!! Most unpleasant experience!!
The room was at another building, fine if you don't have any luggages. It was higly inconvenient. The room was very tiny and you only had enough room to walk around the bed. The wardrobe stunk horribly! And there was even a paper cup in the room.
A big mistake in choosing this place!!

Great location and value for money

The property was kinda hard to find as it´s located in an apartment building with almost no signage out front stating the name of the hotel. We didn´t really know what to expect when walking up the stairs which kinda looked like the set of the Spanish horror movie "REC" from 2007. However, once we got up on the second floor, we quickly found the reception and a staff member which did not speak a word of English so I was unable to get a proper receipt for the stay. I meant to do it when I left but then I had to change my flight to an earlier one, there was no one at the reception that early or around 06.00 AM. The reception was rarely open though.
The room was fine, everything you need, coffee, A/C, large 3-4 person bath and a nice and comfy bed. The location is also very good in the gay area of Madrid, bunch of gay scene restaurants and bars in the vicinity. Price good compared to other properties around the area and generally in Madrid.

Great place to stay

We only stayed tonight's but we had a good time. The room we stayed in was the superluxe with hot tub. The room are very clean and the lady behind the reception is very friendly. The location is near all the gay bars. Bit nosiy on the street during the nights but that's probably because it was Friday and Saturday and everybody is going out. We definitely will be back.

Great location and basic room. Great budget stay

The location of this guest house is on point. It is walkable to everything you want. But overall, the wifi sucked, the place is just basic on the inside. Bathrooms are weird but managable.
When we first got there we told them via email what time we were coming over 5x and there was no one there. The buzzer doesnt work for the reception so we just waited outside in the heat after a long flight till someone opened the door. It waz super unprofessional and time consuming.
This is a glorified airbnb but for the price and location you cant beat it. Loved being in the lgbt district!
