Fantastic space, quiet and private location.
I booked 2 of the villas for my 40th Birthday for 12 of us. The villas were perfect, Laura was a great host and answered any queries immediately. For example I emailed Laura to say we needed an iron and it was delivered by the cleaner less than an hour later. The villas are spacious, clean and well stocked with everything you need. The pool area is fantastic with plenty of beds for all. The terrace in front of each villa is a great space and was used constantly by us for eating, drinking, playing cards etc. Although the basement space is fantastic we never actually used this. The local mymart supermarket is open until 21.15 which is a few minutes walk away and catered for all of our needs. We were almost always able to hail taxis as we walked down the road past the supermarket, which was pretty good seeing as there was 12 of us. We actually made a reservation to visit again next year as we were so delighted with the villas.
The only thing really missing is the lack of somewhere to perhaps cook pizzas, and the facilities to have a BBQ. Not the fault of Laura or the Villas but local taxis really struggle to find where the villas are located. We tired saying the names of the larger resorts next door and opposite but more often that not they had no idea where we were going and we normally had to direct.

DO NOT TRUST LAURA
This booking was cancelled on 29th November with only 3 weeks left before travelling. The booking was for Christmas and New Year which is an incredibly busy time and very hard to find a good alternative in such a short space of time.
This owner is totally unreliable and untrustworthy and she has destroyed our plans.
Her communication was also atrocious she says 1 hour response time on her site but this is totally wrong you are lucky to get a response in 12 hours and usually very very little information.
This unacceptable behaviour and a warning should be issued as she has now really discredited Airbnb and all other brands she uses she has totally devastated a family’s Christmas plans.

Pleasantly surprised
6 friends away for a week, the villa is large enough to not be in each other’s way. The basement room is huge, cool and a great space. Ground floor is more compact but is still ample, plus you have outside space to dine/ relax. Well kept pool area, very clean and well maintained. Large mezzanine with open plan twin beds and en suite, downstairs large twin room and a smaller twin room, family bathroom, compact kitchen area and dining area with sofa and television. It worked well for us, the location is very quiet but your not far from the hustle and bustle if that’s what you’re after. All in all would definitely go back there and recommend it.

Ok place
Was a bit of a disappointment. We thought the room would be huge, since it says almost 200 square meters, but most of the square meters come from the downstairs, where is only one sofa, a table tennis and a poker tennis, and we didn't use the downstairs even for once. The upstairs toilet was not usable for men, because the roof comes so low. Water in the pool is not heated, it wasn't very pleasant to swim there. Furniture pretty old dated. Television really small, but we didn't use it so it didn't matter. The location is really quiet, and there was nothing, so pointless to go walking for looking for a bar or anything to do without a car. Long distance to the beach too. There was only one set of keys, so you had to always go in a group. Otherwise than that, the hotel yard looks nice, the terrace is good, pool are is fine, sun shines to the yard all day, kitchen was fine, dining table fine and roomy, beds were okay. It's safe place because the gate only opens with a key. Cleaning ladies came three times, allthough they didn't change the bed sheets. Overall an ok place, but not worth the money.

Nice villa in quiet location
Enjoyed our stay at Villas las Almenas. The villas are in a quiet area of Maspalomas, which is made up of bungalow and villa developments. Think Milton keynes with sun and sea and yes there are roundabouts!
There are two villas facing on to the pool and two facing on to the golf course. Entry is by a high set of locked sliding gates. The pool is unheated but was fine in late October.
Each villa has its own patio area with table and chairs the villas facing the golf course offer greater privacy than those facing the pool.
Inside on the ground floor is the main sitting / dining and kitchen area, there is a TV with satellite. English channels on offer include BBC world and Sky news international. The kitchen is well equipped for six and induces a hob, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is no oven.
Also on this floor are an adequate bath room with decent enough shower. There are two twin bedrooms the larger of which is the master. In the master is a large sturdy safe.
In the massive basement there is further seating and living space as well as a table tennis table.
On the 1st floor there are a further two single beds and an en suite with small bath and shower.
Curiously there is no door on the en suite!
The stairs to both the 1st floor and basement are steep with open hand-rail and this may be a concern for families with very young children.
Some of the fixings are a bit dated.
The main issue for us was the lack of aircon.
For those who must have the internet you can buy a voucher from the complex next door for 20 Euros for a week, this will only work outside the villa though. I believe WIFI is going to be installed in the future. The nearby tennis and fitness centre is also said to have WIFI but we didn't try this. We did have a pleasant cheap lunch there a couple of times.
The maid comes a few time during your stay and the pool is maintained most days.
We found two good restaurants within walking distance: The Rustico and El Nublo.
If you want to go further afield just stand outside the gate and wait for a taxi to pass, there are literally hundreds of them on the roads at any time. If you hire a car you can be sure that every time you look in your mirror you will find you have a taxi up your exhaust.
We even got a curry house in PDI to deliver.
If you are the type who like to sit around the pool on a sun lounger then this will be heaven on earth for you. For those who like to get out and about it serves as a great base to explore the area.
