A pleasant stopover, far from the stress of our time, in a 16th century mansion, with a pretty chapel

An incredible home steeped in history. A very welcoming host, of great culture, who speaks French perfectly. Huge rooms. Excellent breakfast, delicious jams. We had dinner: grilled bonito with steamed apples, tomato salad from the neighbor’s garden (well, tomatoes that had taste), homemade brownie accompanied by a scoop of ice cream. All prepared by Alicia, and very good. The weather was not nice during our visit, but the house overlooks a beautiful landscape of medium mountain.

A place to get lost

An authentic Palace nestled in a spectacular location, accompanied by Alicia and Antonio, great hosts. The tranquility of the environment and the comfort of the facilities invite you to meditate and read, and, accompanied by Antonio's good work and Alicia's cooking, ensuring that everything is to the guest's liking, make the stay a fantastic experience at all times. repeat without a doubt.
A highly recommended place.
We will repeat for sure.

A step back in time

The hosts Antonio and Alicia are incredibly generous, as is shown in the amazing breakfast, the warm welcome and the time dedicated by Antonio to showing one around this wonderful old palace, which he has lovingly restored over a number of years. There is a charm that only older buildings from a more sedate era can communicate. There are relaxing salons, a billiard room, deckchairs in the shade of trees gently undulating in the breeze, the rustle of whose leaves being the only sound as you look up from your book to a beautiful view over the distant hills.
As you can see, I rather enjoyed this place!

Return to the Palacio

Finally got to go back here after a stay in 2019. Still just as peaceful and comfortable as it was then. Antonio & Alicia run a very welcoming hotel and are only too happy to share their extensive knowledge of areas to visit, both locally and throughout Spain. This trip we followed a route they had outlined for us previously and were delighted with it.

Probably the most relaxing establishment we have ever stayed

The mountain setting is superb and the hosts fantastically obliging. Antonio is interesting, funny and speaks excellent English from his days in London & Oxford. Alicia is a really good cook and although does not speak English, is very jolly and welcoming.
The Palacio (and Chapel) have been lovingly restored and the quality of furnishings, linen and bathroom design are of very high quality.
There are gorgeous views over the valleys and mountains. The only sounds you will hear are the occasional tinkle of a cow/pony bell or eeaw of a donkey: Walked in the nearby mountains and did not see a human or hear a human noise.
Did not want to leave and will definitely go back (despite our policy of not doing so) for a longer stay.
